It all varies from one state to another. But I think Kansas and Florida are similar to what you're saying here. Wyoming doesn't recognize common law at all, so you're either legally married or you aren't.

P.S. Before I forget...In the other thread you asked about the butter...I've eaten it before at a relative's house and didn't think it was worth the cost.

Right now I am. I’m going to work today. Windchill of -52 right now. I cannot wait for the weekend!! Good to know about the butter, thank you!
