Almost forgot my BIG news...

I got 2 eggs yesterday :wee The first eggs to show up for months. Sadly, one was frozen and cracked but the other was a perfect, beautiful blue egg!

Sure glad to see those again after the long draught.
Congrats! Now I guess you have to get out early and often so you don't lose any more.

I get to visit my buddy the dentist this morning, and then will go to the Amish market. I'll go to the club in the afternoon. Princess is off to the casino with a friend .
Is she going to bring home a bag of money?

You're right, that means getting my shovel warmed up and put to work early. :hit Actually, the shoveling isn't that bad if I stay on top of it and I only have to go from the house to the coop. (And shovel out the run.)

Most likely not. She is ahead several hundred from our anniversary trip. If there is such a thing, the Princess is a 'good' gambler. She takes X amount that she is prepared to lose as entertainment. When that is gone, she is done. I was not so sensible so I no longer gamble.

I think that makes her a good gambler.

A friend I had in KS only ever counted what she brought home, never what she lost. So you always had to take her version of "winnings" with a grain of salt. Coming home with $100 isn't that great when it costs $250 to do it!

My father, son and mother went to Vegas ,and of course a casino, years ago. My mother was an instant gambler. They had to literally drag her away from the machines - instant addiction.

Actually they said they had to lift ma up and carry her away. They were lucky, ma was tiny.

Sounds like Princess and Sour are BOTH smart 'gamblers' :D

Debby, you could give the chickens little shovels so they can clear out their own run. After all, they have been slacking since fall and need to do something for themselves if not for you :p

My chickens only have rakes

It's almost funny about these girls. They start jabbering at me as soon as they hear the shovel. By the time I get to their run, they're all gathered in the coop door peeking out at me. Once I get some run ground clear, they all come trooping out demanding a handful of treats.

Yes, and they really love riding in the Mule. They don't all fit at once!

At least you aren't letting them drive it yet!

At our place in north FL, there were a couple of families that would let their 5-year olds drive adult-sized 3-wheelers up and down the road. Always scared me to see them!
