The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Me too! This is just crazy...one day I can walk without a cane or crutch but with a healthy limp, then the next 4 or 5 days I'm in pain and can't walk at all, and even with a crutch its painful. :idunno today is good, I'm not hurting anymore than normal but not going to try and walk with a crutch for a few more weeks...maybe not giving it enough time in between tries, :idunno
So sorry you are going through this! :hugs

Yeah, I've been trying all kinds of remedies, vitamins, calcium, rubs, hot soaks. The only thing that really seems to help is just not using it fully, yet. as I said it's just crazy the way my knee is behaving...my hip and thigh muscles aren't the problem, it's my dad gum knee! :idunno

I think the best remedy is to listen to it and do what it tells you to do. If it says it feels like a bit of a walk, take one. If it wants the crutch, use it. If it says that it’s time to sit and prop it up for a bit, sit down. Let it finish healing on its own timetable.

Sitting here in Casper. Knowing Debby is here somewhere but being stuck in meetings for the rest of the day sucks big time. But I have to get my parts of Ken’s Grand Lodge finalized and today is the only day I’ll have the people I need in one place to go over the schedule, decorations, gift bags, and the menues before I take them to the Holiday Inn tomorrow and get that stuff in the final contract. Just waiting for one more Past Grand Master’s Lady to arrive before we get out the planner and go to work. Oh, and Debby. I just learned last night that they are closing the Proud Cut down. Makes me sick!!

Maybe some fish oil pills might help? Or glucosamine and chondroitin. And turmeric is good too. Cause maybe you need something for the inflammation/to lubricate the joints rather than necessarily calcium? Especially if it’s your knee that’s causing the problems. You can make a turmeric paste too and eat it and it helps it dissolve better, it’s like coconut oil and some black pepper. Called Golden Paste. Here is the recipe. Any animal can eat it, even humans.

And collagen is really good for joints too and lots of other stuff. I have this powder but you can make bone broth too.

I had my left knee rebuilt about 30 years ago, acl and other alphabet ligaments, plus kneecap re centered. It was good for a long time, but some days I cant get up off the floor if I get down. Some days are ouchie, but on my worst day was never as bad as what you deal with every day.

Thanks for the support Cap. The first fracture, I healed up pretty fast. The second one, not so much. The doc's said it was really a bad break but I thought they were just saying that to be spitt'n out words....I guess it really is a bad break.
Of course all the other injuries to my leg hasn't helped with this fracture, either.
Should have just let the first break heal by it's self...I was able to still walk on it...I think it would have grown back together without any problems but hindsight's 20/20.

I know whatcha mean. All the nerve damage doesn't help me one bit, plus the four breaks to the leg, and the 5 bullet wounds.
Wish they could put a bionic leg on me! :lau

I've been using turmeric for years. It also is thought to fight cancers.
