You CAN buy a winning ticket. All you have to do is buy tickets with every possible combination of numbers. I don't know that you would come out ahead in the end or not. Plus you'ld have to be a billionaire before you bought the tickets so you could pay for them.

Based on Sean's prior posts, I gather he's been doing it all his life!!! Not sure how he's managed to still be alive.

Yep, those people need to get a life. "Lisa" called yesterday to help us with our student loans. She and her cohorts have been doing this for months. DW got one that offered to extend the warranty on her car. It is 13 years old, I think it is a bit late to extend the warranty that expired many years ago. I've not gotten one on my cell phone, always the house phone but it shows the phone number while it is ringing. "Lisa", of course, is calling from a local exchange ... though I'd bet lunch that "she" isn't.

No problem!!! You've got the skills and the artistic eye. The only thing that could stop you is if you don't have the dexterity any more.

We mostly don't either and never answer an "out of area" call. Pretty much none of them ever leave a message.

You are making an assumption that the bottom isn't soft WAY down and that it is higher than the river it connects to. I'd guess the only way to dredge it would be with trash pumps on a pontoon boat/raft or something similar. Maybe even the big dredges on barges they use to move sand back up onto beaches.

Hi Bruce! Have you by any chance talked with Blooie? She was on my mind today.

I have a love hate relationship with Border Collies.... That dog should have been on a leash... Period. Glad no one got hurt and they could do a re run of the event. after a rest.

I also have a serious dislike for making Performance horses into Peanut rollers... If thats the way reining is going I will be very very disappointed.

deb
:idunno What are peanut rollers? ... also Good evening glad you are doing better!!

My house up in the desert is about a thousand square feet one bed one bath. My pot belly does a great job... But the Builder in his "expertise" used Three Count em Three sliding glass doors... oNe for the front access one to balance out the Front door... Doesnt lock and there is no landing... Then there is the other to access the green house room It only locks from the inside... Each one Lets in cold and heat as if there were a hole in the wall the size of your fist. Never mind the walls are one foot thick..... SMH. So the potbelly is awesome but .... I resort to an electric oil heater for bedroom comfort.

deb
good evening. That's terrible!!! I have one sliding glass door and I hate the cold air coming in. I'm about ready to put the original old oak door back on the house it's that annoying. The house has had a couple expansions over the years and the old fire place can't keep up. The new er propane furnace is just a money burner so. On to the next option...

Some times the winter cold will get down to the minus 40s and then I'm like this house is cold. I'm gonna go out side and clear land or work on something. I walk out there and... :th

Oh yeah I definitely agree. He definitely should have been. But then again accidents do sometimes happen and he could have simply gotten loose or slipped a collar or something. But from the looks of it they’re probably the type of owner that thinks the dog “doesn’t need a leash” or whatever. Who knows. Definitely should have been leashed though. Or at least near the owner. I didn’t even see the owner anywhere nearby in that first clip so maybe he really did get loose.

Either way, no one got hurt so it is slightly entertaining now and clearly they think so too or at least are in good spirits about it. I am sure I would think differently if someone had gotten hurt but no one did and clearly that dog wanted to WORK. lol

Hopefully now she will keep him on a leash or leave him at home though.

I too am glad they got to try again and did pretty well. Although the horse may have placed better if he wasn’t already tired from this performance but guess he wasn’t too tired cause they did well.

As for the reining, I really can’t say much cause I don’t really know about the sport. I admit was kind of mesmerized/impressed by the movement.

But I don’t know enough about the sport to say if it’s good or what direction it’s headed or whatever.

I do know I HATE the look of halter horses, big huge bodies on tiny little sticks, doesn’t seem very smart or safe or whatever.

But I don’t know enough about the other sports. What is it supposed to look like?
If its a horse owner with the loose dog they wouldnt want to be ID'd. Watch a full on reining video sometime... Then watch a Cutting video and you will see how a horse is supposed to move and react. Reining is for the show arena supposedly to show off the moves that a cutting horse is capable of.

I used to like the fact that reining horses were shown with full lenght manes and tails nothing trimmed back just natural... That horse in the video was wearing a Tail extension. He was coached to keep his head and neck low and his head tipped in as a show of collection.... NOT a show of collection but a show of obedience. If he was truely collected .... Using his muscles in the performance... Its a feat of Incredible muscle isolation.... and I applaud the horse for being able to do it....

Hmm I seem to be ranting over everything today.... LOL

And No those horses probably work for four to five hours at a time in home areanas till they get their perfect run for the day.... They are so fit they dont break a sweat till they go about ten miles. But the brain is what needs a rest...

Horses in the olympics cross country event run twenty five miles doing roads and tracks to warmup before the cross country jumping event. I got to see it in the eighties when It was here at Fairbanks Ranch.

Bruce, I sometimes wonder how I have managed to survived, too! I don't take pain pills unless the pain is off the scale, most of the time my pain level is around 4 to 5 on the 0 to 10 scale. This is everyday, 24/7. There are other ways of dealing with pain besides a pill.

Nah it’s okay, I don’t think you’re ranting lol I find it very interesting and I had no idea about any of that stuff!! Thanks for all the info!! I’m going to go watch some of those videos and maybe see if I can find this tail extension lol I didn’t even notice that.

They probably try to look flashy on purpose but wonder if they could do any actual work... much like show line versus working line dogs, especially Border Collies and Labs or spaniels. Some of them are practically totally different breeds.

It gets in the thirties at my house in the desert. But with that comes Wind Everything has to be anchored down Trash cans tied to the fence trash can lids strapped down with a rope and clip... Buckets building materials... If it can fly it will .... sheds with screw down anchors.... or tposts used as anchors.... The screens on the house will scream so loud you cant talk on the phone.

I tell people it gets cold in the desert... Its a different kind of cold I grant you But you have to have a wind breaker on over your jacket or the jacket is no good. Not good riding weather unless you have to for some reason.

Yep soon as I go back One of the home inprovements I am doing is removing those sliding glass doors replace one with a Triple paned Window for light. And the other with an entry door that can be locked with a dead bolt.... Then the one on the inside has a painting of a parrot on the fixed side... I am hoping to use that one in the green house room... as well. I have a twelve foot openeing to the out side in the green house room Its not insulated either... That opening would accomondate two sliding glass doors.

then the one in my art studio will be replaced by a wall extension and a regular wood door.
Oh did I mention I have a total of four sliding glass doors to deal with. Two from the house go to green house the extra two will be kept for other projects Probably within the green house for my Aquaponics areas Maybe use them to make a dog proof storage area or storage closet.

I rarely throw stuff away untill its used up. Repurposing is in my soul.

Very true analogy... Working vs Show.

I know in halter They are bred with very tiny feet nowadays. After the show arena many have foot and tendon issues all their lives. Some even have to have the nerves cut to their feet so they dont feel pain from navicular bone degeneration.

Sort of like women wearing Stilleto heels or shoes too small because they are stylish. Later on they get hammer toe or ligaments that are too short so they cannot walk without high heels on....
