The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Bruce, I sometimes wonder how I have managed to survived, too! I don't take pain pills unless the pain is off the scale, most of the time my pain level is around 4 to 5 on the 0 to 10 scale. This is everyday, 24/7. There are other ways of dealing with pain besides a pill.
Mine is 2 to 5 many days... and yes you can shut it off if you keep your mind on "stuff" like projects and moving about. I zone it out... Meditation helps but for me it has to be an active one... doing repetative tasks like weaving wire or raking the yard where you can just let your muscle memory take over and your mind drift about.

Thats why I lke home so much... No interuptions. I can do what I need to do to let go of my connection to the world for a while.

Though when I know I am going to do something that is going to hurt later I take the tylenol or Alieve First before I do the work. I work smart not hard when ever I can but sometimes it just takes muscle to get it done.

You CAN buy a winning ticket. All you have to do is buy tickets with every possible combination of numbers. I don't know that you would come out ahead in the end or not. Plus you'ld have to be a billionaire before you bought the tickets so you could pay for them.

Based on Sean's prior posts, I gather he's been doing it all his life!!! Not sure how he's managed to still be alive.

Yep, those people need to get a life. "Lisa" called yesterday to help us with our student loans. She and her cohorts have been doing this for months. DW got one that offered to extend the warranty on her car. It is 13 years old, I think it is a bit late to extend the warranty that expired many years ago. I've not gotten one on my cell phone, always the house phone but it shows the phone number while it is ringing. "Lisa", of course, is calling from a local exchange ... though I'd bet lunch that "she" isn't.

No problem!!! You've got the skills and the artistic eye. The only thing that could stop you is if you don't have the dexterity any more.

We mostly don't either and never answer an "out of area" call. Pretty much none of them ever leave a message.

You are making an assumption that the bottom isn't soft WAY down and that it is higher than the river it connects to. I'd guess the only way to dredge it would be with trash pumps on a pontoon boat/raft or something similar. Maybe even the big dredges on barges they use to move sand back up onto beaches.
Ya I would have to assess the area . I worked with someone who would drain wetland and he often would dig a trench line through the middle. Or on both sides where ever the lowest spot was. And that usualy would work. He probably used pumps to. "But every job is different". He would say.

Yep mounting block folded to the side while I was getting on my horse and silly me I tried to break the fall. I was using a cut down Plastic water barrel...

Then I was rolling around Cussing a blue streak while under my horse... Mom was screaming at me to not scare the horse... She was afraid Katee would step on me. But Nooo... She just stood planted and looked at me like... "Whatcha doin Down there Ma"

the killer was I was too heavy for any one to lift and I was NOT going to have an ambulence come and scrape me up.... I crawled on one good leg to the van and got myself in... Dam pride.

Yikes !!

It gets in the thirties at my house in the desert. But with that comes Wind Everything has to be anchored down Trash cans tied to the fence trash can lids strapped down with a rope and clip... Buckets building materials... If it can fly it will .... sheds with screw down anchors.... or tposts used as anchors.... The screens on the house will scream so loud you cant talk on the phone.

I tell people it gets cold in the desert... Its a different kind of cold I grant you But you have to have a wind breaker on over your jacket or the jacket is no good. Not good riding weather unless you have to for some reason.

Yep soon as I go back One of the home inprovements I am doing is removing those sliding glass doors replace one with a Triple paned Window for light. And the other with an entry door that can be locked with a dead bolt.... Then the one on the inside has a painting of a parrot on the fixed side... I am hoping to use that one in the green house room... as well. I have a twelve foot openeing to the out side in the green house room Its not insulated either... That opening would accomondate two sliding glass doors.

then the one in my art studio will be replaced by a wall extension and a regular wood door.
Oh did I mention I have a total of four sliding glass doors to deal with. Two from the house go to green house the extra two will be kept for other projects Probably within the green house for my Aquaponics areas Maybe use them to make a dog proof storage area or storage closet.

I rarely throw stuff away untill its used up. Repurposing is in my soul.

I can't chat at the moment :frow. but your winter sounds pretty harsh . Glad it's not a long winter right?... See you later.....

Very true analogy... Working vs Show.

I know in halter They are bred with very tiny feet nowadays. After the show arena many have foot and tendon issues all their lives. Some even have to have the nerves cut to their feet so they dont feel pain from navicular bone degeneration.

Sort of like women wearing Stilleto heels or shoes too small because they are stylish. Later on they get hammer toe or ligaments that are too short so they cannot walk without high heels on....

deb

That is very sad!! :(

And what good does that do the breed!? Selfish people only breeding for money or looks or whatever.... :rant

Morning.... the Dag-gum Phone woke me because it rang three times in a row each time it rang four times. I thought mom had fallen again... But Nooo... It was some gal leaving a message that Windows was going to crash.... it rang again and it was someone with an Indian accent wanting to sell me car insurance... Then it rang again telling me my Visa Account was seriously in trouble. Five Freaking calls before 10 am...:rant

Hate the Intrusion to life they perform.... Telemarketers.... And WE are on the Do not Call list. Caller Id cannot be screened till after they hang up.... Bad phone bad bad phone.... of course Its probably my fault for not reading the set up instructions. :he

Ok rant is over....

Morning NFC

deb
hi deb, get a answering machine, i set mine at four rings, you'd be surprised at how many telemarketers don't get it that we won't answer, we're also on the do not call list for all the good it does

I think those calls happen to everyone Deb. Back in the day, cell phone numbers were unavailable to callers but those days are gone. Every once in a while I'll get several calls in a row, always from different numbers, that it's my last chance to do something before they take me to court.

I might not always be good, but I haven't been that bad! They're just junk calls.
when they get to threatening me, thats when i answer, they never call me again after i read them their pedigree, all without raising my voice too or using foul language

oh wow deb, that had to be rough

That is very sad!! :(

It goes with all Breeds and bloodlines.... Standard of perfection in chickens, Dog breeds, Cat breeds, horse breeds are no differeent...

Arab blood lines look nothing like the desert bred.
Quarter horse... you name it... Depending on Show venue.
Thoroughbreds
Running Quarter
Draft horses
Then there is that "guy" in all venuse who wont spay or neuter or geld because they want to breed and make money.... using no responsibility... or because they want a manly stallion thats hard to handle.... or dog or cat...

I seem to rant away lateley. sorry NFC
