The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

When we moved into the present home over 50 years ago, it was only half finished. We lived in the basement. Only water was in the laundry tub for dishes and washing. The tiny half bathroom was functional with 5 people fighting to use it.

I should mention the 10 dogs (half were puppies) that moved in with us. Had exercise pens in the furnace room for them. For the older dogs we had a small ex pen in the basement for them. It was next to bar stools and a half finished bar- my father next finished.

We came downstairs one day to find both oldies(females) sitting in the bar stools- scared the daylights out of us. Even better they both managed to poop on the chairs. :sick:sick:sick. Could not wait for the runs and stalls to be delivered so they would have a proper place to go in and out.

Not yet unfortunately. In case you ever wondered...washing dishes in the bath tub is not fun. DH need to access something on the outside of the house and the blizzard put a damper on that. Hopefully today he can get things finished up. :fl
Ugh.
I had that happen to me. It lasted all winter. Turns out that something froze in the vent pipe. Evidently it's a very common occurrence after having work done on the roof (I had just had mine reshingled a few weeks before).

Good morning NFC! I work at the salt mine today so not too much. However, since I'll be jobless at the end of the month, I'm planning to take March off and expand the garden. I've got some sketches to do today to help plan all of it out.

You and hubs are running for groceries, any chance you'll get your snazzy new footwear too?
Are you pleased about the layoff? Sometimes they're actually a blessing.

I have done that before and I agree it is not enjoyable.
I've done it before many times and agree-not fun :(

Have a good day at work Sue!
Thanks-as you can tell, home already because of illness in the public schools. They closed us since we are very low as well with siblings out. The bad part for me is we don't go back until next Wed and they don't pay us to be off-have to use our annual/sick leave, plus we will have to make it up at the end of the school year :th

Good morning all. :frow

She did well - even cleaned up after herself. That was the only downside of the last sitter.

Morning :frow Sour

Good morning everyone! :frow

Winter has raised its ugly head in South Texas, 38°F and misty rain. Wind 25 to 30 mph, wind chill 28°F. After a high of 83°F, yesterday. Any colder and we'd have freezing rain! :tha good day to just sit by the fire and read a good book!

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

You might need the blueprints for @DigMyChicks child excluder storage unit.

In case you ever wondered...washing dishes in the bath tub is not fun.
On the plus side it seems like the drain for the tub is working unlike the sinks!

I'm sure the neighbors were thinking, "there goes the neighborhood!"
You probably made it easier for whoever bought the house. The neighbors would be happy to have people that don't wash their dishes on the front lawn.

I'm doing well. 5 days off this week, so I'm trying to tackle a bit of my to do list. So far all that I've managed is to make a see saw for the goats.

What are you reading now that you finished the SK book?

The goats should enjoy the see saw! We had a slide for our goats. DH attached a long piece of heavy canvas from the top of a tree to a stump at the bottom. It was probably about 10' high and they loved it.

Right now I'm reading a Tami Hoag book. Not a bad story, but kind of dragging. I have another SK book in the wings for next, "The Dark Man".
