The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good afternoon everyone :frow

Hi IM my Friday is over 😁 finished cleaning and paperwork -so I'm free until April 1st !!

we are done cleaning and everything, so now we just keep in touch with the families each week until we go back. Stay safe
I’ll try Sue. Starting Monday all children will have their temps checked when they come to the door. Anyone over 99.0 will be sent back home with the parents. We clean every day but there are germs everywhere. I clean our kids bathrooms every Friday to make sure it’s done thoroughly at least once a week. It gets done every day but we all don’t clean the same. Stay safe yourself:hugs

I know what you mean about cleaning!! We started checking temps along with our regular health check this week, but then they decided to close us-so we have an extended Spring break.

You take care of yourself as well :hugs :hugs

Any chance of sickness and I’m out of there.

What are you going to do on your spring break?

Well we officially have community transfer here but the government has no intention of closing schools unless a student tests positive for Covid-19. The vast majority of NZ teachers would be in the over 50s so immediately more at risk, and if a student tests positive they've had up to 10 days to spread it around the school before the decision is made to close. My Mum is a teacher of 5 year olds (she's 65 years old) and my older sister is also a teacher. My Dad was treated for prostate cancer last year and has other health issues and my Nan also lives with them. She's had to have surgery to fit a pace maker, as well as recently been treated for thyroid cancer. So immediately they are all at risk.😰 I just think it's a bad decision (and I can complain about my government because there aren't any other Kiwis on this thread). :plbb

The shopping frenzy has started. Usually I do an online order that we pick up and I can always do it the day before I want to pick it up - I could do it the same day if it wasn't a weekend. But I checked online today and the first available slot was 4 days from now! So the craziness is going to ramp up here with a vengeance.

The person that had Muscovy ducklings wanted me to take all 7 but that's a few too many bodies inside for the 2 months before they are fully feathered. So we are going to try hatching some. There's a lovely lady down the way who we've got chicken eggs off before and she has half a dozen fertile Muscovy eggs for us. It's going to be a great distraction from all the craziness that's happening at the moment and something the kids can focus on. But it's going to be a long 35 days until they hatch! And it'll be just my luck that all 6 hatch (hopefully not)! 🤣
