The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi, the only way I've seen work is biting the child back ( just to let them know it hurts ). The parents need to be the ones that do it of course, as we can't.
I remember when our daughter was in this stage and it only took one time getting bit back to cure the problem.
was told that stopped me from bitting when i was a child

Hi Sue, you also!
Question for you...any tips on how to get a 2 year old to quit biting?

My sister was a bad biter...she's gnaw on anyone that gave her 1/2 a chance. Mom didn't believe my brother and me when we'd tattle on little sis. One day Mom was talking with a neighbor and asked why her son had a big bandage on his hand. Mom was mortified when she was told it was from little sis biting him.

I don't know how my parents broke her of the habit, but she soon stopped. I still have a scar on one hand from where she chomped on me!

The dad asked us to, we said we can’t. He’s even biting his parents. He can’t be here today cuz he bit 3 times yesterday. We have a little area blocked off with a metal crib type thing we put him in when he bites. Kids are starting to be afraid of our little T-Rex.
I've had parent's like that and telling us to spank if they need it 😲 Not our job people. The first time they do it, they need to have the same done to them. At story time read books about biting as well to help reinforce that it not okay

Worked on my neighbor's son way back when. You bite, you get bitten.

I don’t know how long we put up with it. Parents get upset when we tell them their child got bit. He goes home at least once a week and then can’t come the next day. I think he should be kicked out if it doesn’t improve.
We let a brother/sister go last week.(Behavior problems)The boy was on our side for several weeks. We were ready to let him go and the preschool teacher wanted to give him a chance. He was old enough to move to her room. 3 weeks in she decided she couldn’t handle him either. She’s the type that wants to be a hero. I might have snickered a bit:D

We tried something new last night and liked it. Since we love Cuban sandwiches, when I found a take off on them for Cubano burgers had to try them. The burger part is made with ground pork and seasonings, shaped into patties and cooked. Topped with Swiss cheese, ham, Dill pickles and on a Brioche bun smeared with a mix of mustard & mayo.

They were tasty! A bit on the salty side, but I'll adjust that the next time I make them.
That sounds delicious!
