Caustic acidosis what ever that means
Walnuts have alkaline in them or an acid-- either one is caustic and can cause sores

update: different types of acid but mostly in the hulls

I would keep her away from them too! Do the chickens eat them?
Ron, honestly, I haven’t seen them peck at them, but maybe B did?
I told that to the doctor too. B couldn’t poop , so no fecal test was performed

Ps. 1.5 acres of free ranging chickens is a little hard to track at times. And for those weeds.... I can’t pull them all

Update on my Beetov-Hen. The vet said that some pallups were found in her throat, and said that they should get smaller with time, and not to feed her any dried nuts, like cashews or walnuts. She was given an injection of Vitamins and a prescription for inflammation. But she also said that , otherwise Beetov-Hen is healthy at her age.

Glad you got her checked out Alex!

Good afternoon. Hope you’re having a good day. Sorry but eyes are tired and I can’t see to divide the quotes lol.

Hi IM, sorry about the tired eyes...too much time on the computer maybe? That happens to me sometimes. I think it's nature's way of telling me to take a nap.

Lol I like your theory! I need glasses, haven’t had mine for about a year but I’ll be calling to make an appointment for sure. It’s getting bad enough I can’t hardly see even at work so better get on it.
