The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning everyone! :frow

Sounds like you have a green thumb! I have a brown thumb. Not much experience other than up-keeping. My mom grew 2 red guava trees, 1 mandarin orange tree, an apple tree, and a grape vine that grows over the gazebo; they're all trees so I dont have to do much. I tried green lettuce and kale last year but my chickens destroyed them 🤦‍♀️ learned my lesson. I'm attempting an herb for the third time but not sure I'll have luck.

🤞 the last time I remember a good rain fall in California was 2005; the end of my freshman year. Since, it seems like there is less rain every year. I hear stories from the 70's and 80's but, I'm no weather expert.

That's such a nice daughter! Keeper! :p they're really cool looking.

I agree! I only water the front lawn because we share it with the neighbor; he's mowed our side for the last 30 years so who am I to complain? Lol but I think it's absolutely ridiculous! And what I find even more irritating silly, is that you cannot grow fruit/veggies in the front yard. So, they want it to look nice and serve no real purpose... ok. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ahhhh! I would have been so frustrated with that fine, probably complain, "this is why I can't do anything!" Hahaha.

Omgoodness, one of my clocks is officially correct. I don't think I've changed it since we hung it up but, the only people who notice are the guests :p I've been so use to not looking at it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How fun! Any focus in particular? I would love to take an art class :)

Omg she will be! At least she will be trained... love big dogs but I'm 5'4" so, a large enough dog can knock me over.

Good morning Mad :frow

You're pretty busy growing kids right now, a garden can come later :)

The class that starts today is a drawing class. Hopefully it's fun.

P.S. You can't be short because you're 1/2" taller than me :gig

I go my Drivers license during a drought in 1976. My 1978 I thought I was a pro at driving..until I drove one day in one of our atmospheric river storms! I was very scared LOL!

I would like a greenhouse in the winter...is that possible?

If we can do it here in WY I would think you could do one in MN!

We're going to put one side against the garage, that will help protect it from the wind. And we're going to use the metal framing we had as a run at the company house for the structure. We're still debating what to use to cover the metal framing. One thing for sure, plastic won't work (longer than maybe a couple weeks  ).

Let me know how it works for you. Plastic would definitely not be a good idea

Mark, is that spider in your avatar a pet you haven't told us about yet?
No ! But they amaze me because if you look at them with a magnifying glass they can move their eyeball from the inside so they can triangulate on their prey . They also have a sense of humor if you tease one it will play hide and seek with you . If you don't like spiders it is best not to fool with them . I was just trying to show another member how to tell a male from a female by looking for the Pedipalps . Those little feet they wave at their mate. :frow

That's interesting, I never spent much time studying spiders.
