What are these awards for Blooie? I've never heard of it but congratulations to you both!Okay, dinner is over and dishes done, shower taken and I can tell you about this weekend! Ken received two awards, both very prestigious and it's unusual for a man to receive both in one year, let alone both ever. He barely made it through his "thank you", he was so emotional!

This is the award he was presented during the private ceremony. Didn't get to see him get this one but I can tell you when he came back to the hotel room he was already choked up telling me about it. This is the award he was honored with at the awards banquet. He was stunned, to say the least.
Yes, he is trying to choke back tears while the jewel is being placed around his neck.

My "Lady of the Council" award and certificate.
Thanking everyone for the honor. Can't remember most of what I said, except I think I said something about crying when I realized I'd forgotten my other pins, but that maybe I was supposed to forget them because maybe what I was supposed to remember wasn't the pins themselves but what they mean.
Funny story behind my award.... Several years ago at the Wyoming Grand Lodge, outgoing Grand Master Clarence Vranish presented me with the Grand Master's Special Award for the work I did to arrange for a Cornerstone ceremony for the Cowley Log Gym. It was the first time in the history of Wyoming Masonry that the award had been presented to a woman. I wore it to every single Masonic event from that day on. Then last year I was presented with the Royal Arch Masons International Sweetheart Award by Phil Buchholz. Again, I wore it proudly with my Grand Master's award to every Masonic function. I wore both all week at this year's Grand York Rite Sessions.
Well, we were running a little behind getting ready for the formal banquet, and I forgot to take the pins off what I had been wearing to the other ceremonies of the day and put them on my formal. I realized it when we got to the venue and burst into tears. I was so upset! I'd never left them behind before! There wasn't time to run back to the hotel and get them before the festivities. And it took forever (and a heartfelt apology to Phil) for me to calm down. Ken kept telling me it was going to be alright. Putz knew what was going to happen later in the evening the other gentlemen at our table.
Tom and Otto got up to the podium and started talking about the next award. When he said he was sitting with a lady who had forgotten her pins and had said she'd rather attend an event without her underwear than her pins (I didn't really say that, but that's about how I was feeling) I had an inkling, so I had a few minutes to compose myself before they called my name. WOW. Back to crying again! What an absolute honor to receive the Lady of the Council award from this amazing group of gentlemen. I am so grateful. What an amazing weekend!
