Mine are barely bothering to work at laying eggs these days. 9 chickens and getting 2-3 eggs a day...lazy freeloaders

When does DS have to go back to school? I know you've loved having him home.

It is snowing up there now. He was standing in the sunshine in the front yard just now in his socks a a short sleeved shirt.
I have on a sweater and a jacket in the house.

We both have enjoyed having him home over the break.

I think I need to go back to school as well. I miss thinking.
I miss being useful.

Going back to school sounds exciting. Where would you go and what would you study?

Leave it up to chickens to prove you wrong every time. Just came back from checking on the girls and there were 5 beautiful eggs in 1 nesting box.

Sorry girls, I take it back calling you "freeloaders"!

Someone want to help me out with my moral ethical dilemma about taking out a rooster, no I don't mean on a date. He's pretty, but he over mates the hens, especially the polish, because he can sneak up on them, some are showing feather wear even though they just molted, I fear I have kept him around for far too long but I have trouble ordering executions, I can't separate him out because the separation pen has some bantam roosters in it. So some words of encouragement for a tender soul who has trouble swatting flies. I know I sound pathetic.

I would not mind finishing up the entomology degree, but, ceramics calls me.
I like both and since I do not feel a need to please my mother anymore, I really think the artist in me deserves her day.
A friend has given me a kick wheel, we go get it tonight,
I now have five wheels and a kiln... but no three phase wiring to plug it into. (so we have stuff taking up room)

I might do as Bert says, teach myself the chemistry needed for glaze making.
There is a lot to know, and having someone explain it to me would be nice.

My brain needs challenges.

That's the rub, The community college we have is less than enthusiastic, the U of F had no problem taking me the last two times, but I stopped mid second degree to have my kid... and did not finish it up.
I don't think they like quitters.

I would not mind finishing up the entomology degree, but, ceramics calls me.
I like both and since I do not feel a need to please my mother anymore, I really think the artist in me deserves her day.

gal, there has to be local classes for that.

even the local colleges would offer classes like that, and not for a degree.

any local ceramic shops, offer classes?

The tech school just closed down their program. That is where I am getting the wheel.
The instructor had all of his stuff there and he needs to keep it somewhere else now.
He said he would rather I get it than the dumpsters.

There are enough of us who know enough people who know people that maybe we can get a little leisure group together.
But I still need three phase.
