It's neck Blooie
It looks like a naked neck
Yep, got me a Naked Neck. The egg was marked "Australorp". There were a total of 3 marked that way, two were clears and pulled early. This little guy just kept going and going.
Blooie, I take it you weren't expecting any naked necks. It's cute as a button.
I was expecting one NN, but not out of an Australorp egg!
Morning everyone!
Blooie, did your little chick yell "surprise" when it popped out? I take it this little one wasn't from one of your eggs?
WV, you're right...Berts needs a title. Maybe that should be our theme for the day, lol.
He's been yelling all night. The room with the most stable temperatures happens to be our bedroom! Yeah.... I don't have any roosters, Debby, so no fertile eggs here. I won these. Prize was 6 Australorp eggs. But he said he was worried that some of his Aussie eggs hadn't been fertile, so he was sending 3 of those, and some extras. The extras were a NN, a Silkie, a Cochin, 2 Bantams, an Easter Egger, a Leghorn, and a Nankin. One "Aussie", one NN, the Leghorn, the EE, and the Cochin made it to lockdown.
Morning folks!
NFC, we used to go to some of those auctions. Weather always plays a big part around here, but probably not so much there. Also if they posted lots of pics online and how well they lay out the stuff and present it. You could do quite well.. I hope you do!
Blooie a naked neck! You knew you had one in there, didn't you? Was the egg just labeled wrong? Personally I dont care for them, but they have grown on me a bit, the more of them I see.
I knew I had one in there....it's STILL in there, along with this little dude from last night!
Blooie, I see that the egg beside your little surprise is labeled NN; I assume that means you were expecting at least one of these. Does somebody have a NN roo that's running around grinning and handing out cigars?
I guess they must be, Bunny. <sigh> Oh, well, it hatched, which is more than it looks like these others are planning on doing! Think I'll go outside and bring in the two little Bantams to keep him company while we wait for the others to hatch, if they're going to. A single chick is a noisy chick!! Then when I put him outside with the other chicks, I'll be putting in more than one instead of a single chick, and the Bantams know the routine as far as MHP, food and water. Don't think we'll have any issues - not that much age difference, but there's safety in numbers.
