The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I am not sure that it is selfishness not to have children.
Nor is it selfish to have children. When thought is put into having or not having children, it is never a selfish decision.

BertS,
I think being proud -let's say "Happy"-about our children's accomplishments Is a good thing.
Better to acknowledge their efforts than for them to never feel the sense of accomplishment.
Some parents can never be pleased no matter a child's effort.
That can be damaging to a child. It IS damaging.
Some of us had parents that were only 'proud', never 'proud of'. There is a huge huge difference.

Brag on that kid BertS! Brag on all of them.
There is something that each one does that no other child can do, and even if it is just bringing a smile to your face that day, them Hurray for them!

Yeah, Blooie has a knack when it comes to that

It's a sure sign of a great author when their prose can create emotions.

You have a very special sister. Don't know why, but this post gave me happy tears.
I do indeed! In fact, I have 3 very special sisters and one very sweet brother! Then I have my Ken, our kids, our grandkids and our great-grandkids, and lots of friends both online and in person. I don't know why God has blessed little old me with so much, but I am so grateful for every gift He's given me - even the ones I wasn't so sure I wanted at the time. Losing grandson Austin a few years ago was a blow I didn't think I'd recover from, and I still haven't figured out what I was supposed to get from that tragedy, but I'm learning to be patient and wait....He'll show me when He's ready.

My goofy and wonderful family! Sister Bev, brother Ron, me, sister Lori and sister Linda. Every year we try to get one good photo of all of us - most end up just like this!

Um, can you figure out which is my full sibling and which ones are my half-siblings? If you can, will you tell us? We're still not sure!

Couldn't say, but the lady in the grey, long sleeved shirt seems to have started you all off laughing! I have a theory as to what may have transpired, but I'll keep that to myself :)
