The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Berts and Chris have already said it all, Blooie.

Thanks for the confidence, my friends. I'll be trying again later this afternoon, but Jenny will here this time to guide me through the process so I won't be as nervous. <sigh>

Gotta share this - every summer our grandson Evan goes back to South Dakota to spend the summer with his Dad, Stepmom, and his other extended family. I think I already mentioned that he does a great job as a volunteer at the Butterfly House in Sioux Falls, helping kids who are scared and just generally sharing what he knows, which is quite a lot after doing it for 3 years. Even adults bringing visitors in ask for Evan to be their guide, just because he's so darn personable and smart.

This was posted by his stepmom Deb's Facebook page this morning! What a boy - and I'm so glad that Tam and Dan put their personal differences aside in their divorce and put Evan before their pride and their differences, and Tam has done an amazing job raising a compassionate, loving little boy on her own. This is the result.

Does it get any better? We are so proud of him, but not one bit surprised. The kid who takes Jack-o-Lanterns and Gingerbread Houses to the Senior Citizen's Center here, plans to donate a bat house to the town of Cowley, and volunteers at the Butterfly House with his Gramma and Grampa Skyberg just does things like this! He's the first to step in and offer friendship to a new kid at school, help one who might be getting picked on, and is absolutely amazing with Kendra and Katie. What a great kid!

"Last Sunday, we celebrated Evan's unbirthday. He requested Sioux Falls Area Humane Society donations. He received: cat food, dog food, dog bones, towels and other misc items. In addition there was a donation to "Charlie". He is the oldest dog there and needs a forever family. Thank you to everyone who came to help celebrate and donate, we had tons of fun."
End of Facebook post....ain't he something?

That's wonderful, Blooie and a testament to the way you have all raised him. If only compassion like that was more common eh?

Good morning!

Blooie, I can't add much to what our other buddies have said about Kendra and the cath process except to quote what someone said to me the other day when I was having trouble with something..."you gotta get western with it"! Come on girlfriend, you can do this.

Just have to share this...yesterday I got a delivery from a special friend here on BYC. Such a thoughtful, generous gift. I've said it before and I'll say it again...the people I've met here (either virtually or in person) are the best! Hugs to all of you
