Somehow all this talk about music and speech problems got me remembering a story told by Mel Tillis, a country singer with a well-known stuttering problem. Many years ago, he and some other musicians had all bunked down for the night in the same hotel room. He awoke during the night, and heard the sounds of somebody fumbling around near the window. As you can imagine, he was a bit alarmed. He tried, but he just couldn't say anything, so he sang, "Guys, there's somebody trying to break in." (or something like that) Turned out it was another singer who was coming back drunk and couldn't find his door key.
