I was surprised to see the size of him and how fast he could move. Scary to think what one of those could do to a flock...definitely would not be any free ranging going on.

According to Wikipedia (which of course is always right, lol), "In North America, coyotes sometimes eat badgers and vice versa, but the majority of their interactions seem to be mutual or neutral.[18] American badgers and coyotes have been seen hunting together in a cooperative fashion." That's all a poultry-keeper would need...a roaming herd of badgers + coyotes. YIKES!
 
Better that you saw one, rather than finding out the hard way. Thats a consolation in itself!

Just having the first bit of rain in almost 5 months

Maybe the garden may start looking like a garden again!

We were out on the gator one day and come upon a badger...thought he was dead but he was playing possum. They scare the heck out of me.
