Finally home! I was telling Ken about the "pillow talk" and he said, "Yeah, I know it's getting bad for you. Let's run up to Billings." So we went on a great pillow hunt. This activity, I must say, did result in a pillow fight or two. We hit several stores, most of which are having sales at the moment, and ended up coming home with some kind of Down Alternative that Ken liked and I picked up a My Pillow. We'll see.
My biggest issue seems to be that I can't take anything against the back of my head. I can't rest my head back in a recliner, can't lay my head back in the hot tub or in the bath tub, can't lay it back on the seat back in the car, can't lay flat on my back (lots of fun when I have stents put in and have to lay totally flat) and can't do the trusty "towel rolled up at the back of my neck" thing. Just a very short time of anything on the back of my head starts the headaches and I can do without them! That is a direct result of the fusion surgery - never had that before and it started about 2 months after the fusion. And my head extends forward....when I told Dr. Schneider that I looked like a turtle since the surgery he said, "But you're a very cute turtle!" I don't wanna be a turtle...I want to be able to read a book in bed or watch TV in the recliner with my head resting comfortably.
So we'll see if either of these pillows work. If not, they'll join the collection of failures in the spare closet and I'll be measured ahead of time for my little black and white prison suit. Can't remember who asked, but we do have a new mattress which is extremely comfortable, and the base it's on is adjustable so I can elevate my feet when my legs swell.
Man, I sound much more decrepit than I am, don't I?
