I know you guys and gals are over it but I do have to say it looks really pretty.

Remember the cane toad from a couple of days ago with his insides hanging out? Well, he is still kicking and after finding him on the lawn again this morning, I herded him in the direction of the neighbour's.

Did I tell you that I caught one in a rat snap trap? Went out to check the trap, there was a cane toad with the snap across his belly, completely squished. I grabbed a plastic bag and very carefully opened the snap, dropped the squashed and dead cane toad into it .. turned around to reset the trap and the plastic bag started hopping off!!

You know how they reckon cockroaches will be the only survivors? I think they will have company .. cane toads!

I watched a few shows about your Cane toad invasion. Seems you aren't doing your duty by killing them all. You guys have lots of invasive species.

On another note it is snowing again here,

Yeah, I know, I should but I can’t .. I would feel so bad; it is not in my nature and it is not their fault some idiot released their ancestors

I think the Government should put a $1 or $2 ransom on the head of every live cane toad. The kids could collect them and drop them off at a deposit point where they could be humanely disposed off. They would be drastically reduced in numbers rather quickly I think.

People hit them with golf clubs

However, on a funnier note, the RSPCA recommends rubbing haemorrhoid cream onto them before hitting them with golf clubs, apparently it is less cruel

<sigh> Sometimes the answer that comes to me when reading a post is that discretion is indeed the better part of valor! But I will say this...it would prevent swelling when clobbered with the golf club. I know, I know...get back into the corner, Blooie!

I look at this in a far more practical way. Lets say you put Prep H on a toad then step back and draw back with a 3 wood to let him have it....


and he jumps away, hiding in tall grass where you can not see him....



Then 20 minutes after you have given up, Sour comes along. sees the toad, with a back full of Prep H and does not notice the ointment. Picks up the toad, puts it to his mouth and takes a long hard lick of the toad?


I am betting Sour would not be a happy toad licker at this point! So Please do not use Prep H on the toads, Save our Toad lickers from becoming a puckered up licker!! Please!!
