The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thank you oldhenlikesdogs I did try Nurofen [Ibuprofen] the day before calling the doctor but I confess I only took two and as they did not help, did not take any more. However, at the hospital they gave me Nurofen and Panadol and that did seem to help so I will give them another try.

DMC yeah, I did try the Epsom salts also, twice. It was really nice soaking in the cold bath on a hot day but getting out was tricky! Lol

I too am a lost cause when it comes to resting .. I am soon off to start the housework, complete with by new BFF Mr Walking Stick

I have lost track of how much I have told you guys n' gals about our plans to move .. but, hubby has scored an interview for a job up in FNQ [Far North Queensland, 1,300kms North of our current location] where we are hoping to move to be closer to his father and being a seaside coastal village, a more relaxing lifestyle. He flies out tomorrow, has an interview Tuesday and then flies back Wednesday. They did give the option to interview in person or via Skype but we figured in person would give a good impression. Wish us luck!

Good luck to DH on the interview!

Hope the knee feels better soon.

Teila, just got back home and saw your post about all the happenings down your way.

So awful about the maniac driving into people. Sometimes it seems there are just too many crazies loose out there. Glad to hear you got your knee seen to and that you didn't have to stay in the hospital. Take it easy, give it a chance to heal.

And best of luck on your DH getting the new position! Sounds like it would be great for all of you...closer to the seaside, ahhh.

So today we drove to Cheyenne to take mom out to lunch for her birthday. It was a very nice place, attentive service, pretty good food, the manager even gave her a free dessert and took a picture of us that he slipped into a card.

Sounds great right? About 45 minutes after she went home, I got a call from her and she was sicker than a dog.

Wow, happy birthday mom, I got you a case of food poisoning.

Thank you everyone for the best wishes for hubby’s interview .. this is an integral part of our plan and while his getting the job will mean we are apart for a few months [maybe 5], it will be worth it!

N F C Aaaw, I am so sorry that your Mum’s birthday lunch ended the way it did .. please wish her a Happy Birthday from down under and a speedy recovery.

Hey Scott uuum, yeah, not so much on getting out of the heat, we will be relocating from subtropical to tropical

I know, crazy BUT we will have air conditioning and the ocean is 5mins walk away. Cyclones are an increased threat up there but the town had a population of 1,233 in the 2011 Census and probably still around that number now. It is, however, only 16kms from Ingham with a population of 5,000 odd and Townsville is 110kms south with a population of 190,000 .. so it is going to be own little bit of paradise with ‘hectic’ available if we desire it

The beach!

Teila. you will have to take care - no swimming with sharks - please

Hey diva Yep, having seen a shark up there circling not far from shore, no beach swimming for me, just walking. Also, crocodiles up there with box jellyfish and Irukandji jelly fish. Quote: With venom 100 times more potent than a cobra and 1000 times more potent than a tarantula, the Irukandji jellyfish is believed to be the most venomous creature in the world. However, the box jellyfish can cause death in a healthy adult in minutes.

All my dipping in the water will be done in the Spa which we will be installing under the high set house

Good morning!

Beautiful photos Teila. The ocean is the biggest thing I miss with our move to WY. Love to sit and watch the water
