The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hey @sunflour do you get to enjoy a day of R&R today? Do you have your new chicks yet?

Gotta work today, but don't have to go in until 11 am on Sundays.

No chicks yet, I'm getting "cold feet" - not sure my schedule will allow enough time off for integration and overwhelmed with the idea to have to keep them separated for months - really wish we had built our coop and run differently.

But still hoping to proceed. They are going to be available really soon, so gotta make a decision.

It's hard to build a coop and run with all future needs met, I think. We always just made whatever revisions we could as needed. Maybe your work schedule will change some this coming year? Babies of any kind take work and time, hope it will work out for you.

We were in TSC Friday to pick up cat food. While wandering around the store, I came across tanks of Golden sex links, bantams and assorted ducks. Made me tear up to see them...man, I miss having chickens! I hope we can get the ok from the company that owns our house to be able to build a small coop/run so we can have them again.

I think once you get bit by the chicken bug, you don't ever totally shake it, lol.

Temperature dropped from mid 70's to low 30's in one fell swoop. My first 'spring' flowers (snowdrops) are blooming and spring peepers were singing yesterday. Their tiny butts are shivering right now.

Those first flowers of the year are really special, how nice you have Snowdrops blooming!

I didn't know they were already having the Chick Days, guess I'm just out of the "loop" all around.

My schedule will remain crazy - but DH doesn't work so he can handle most of the chores....I'm off tomorrow and going to talk to our source to see when and what chicks they'll be getting:)
If I do get some, then you Debby will have to hold my hand since you are the Enabler here

We had several days in the mid to high 70's and down to 38 last night. Everything is blooming around here....my kleenex count is the proof

You can call me the Enabler, but I prefer Aunt to the little ones

Ugh, allergies...springtime fun! At least you get some pretty blooming things to look at while you're sneezing.

No spring here yet. We are in the 20's today with more snow expected. On my list of to-do chores today is buying a snow shovel. For some reason, DH kept saying we weren't going to need one. After getting stuck in the driveway for yesterday, he's not saying that any more
