So were we!! Tam worked with Shannon on the night shift for years, until last summer when Shannon moved across the mountains to Buffalo to be closer to her adult kids. Shannon's husband had a relatively rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, and Shannon's mom was very ill at the same time he was diagnosed. Her mom passed, so Tam spent a couple of weeks helping Shannon get her mother's house and property cleaned up and ready to sell, and that was a fast sale! Tam actually had a key and would go over when Shannon had to take hubby in for medical stuff, but they knew what was going to happen so he refused extreme measures and died during his last hospitalization. Shannon turned to Tam again and Tam didn't let her down. Part of his insurance was used to pay the house off, she moved to Buffalo, and she 's been paying taxes and utilities on two properties. So when she saw Tam's problem on FB she knew the answer to both their prayers. It's an old house, built in 1937, but Shannon had a new roof, new flooring, new appliances, and new furnace put in before she put it on the market. It hasn't sold in all that time. Looks pretty rough on the exterior but the inside is pretty nice, with all those wide archways between rooms....but Tam always teased Shannon about how much she loved turquoise! Seems every other room is painted that color. It totally suits Tam's personality - old enough to have some character but updated, and it's so bright and sunny in there!Blooie, I am amazed at how fast this happened, so glad Tam has a new home.
Tam's bedroom actually has a separate sitting room. There are 3 more bedrooms upstairs and an open den at the top of the stair landing up there as well. Katie will get her own room there for those times when the kids are out of town and Katie stays with Aunt Tammy. I didn't get any shots of the upstairs, which is really cute. Tam got all excited when she took Evan over there after school so he could look and pick out his room - the "For Sale" sign had been taken down!
I'm up early this morning. We have to pick Kendra up at 7 and head for Billings. Ken's appointment with his surgeon is this morning so I've already had my tea, my shower, packed a catheter bag, and am ready to go, and it's only 5:30. <sigh> I'm too old for this. I promise Tam I'd stop at Lowes and Home Depot and get some paint samples for her. I have a feeling it's going to be a loooong day.
