Hooray for your new chicks Debby!! So nice of Bob to give you a sapphire chick. BYC people are the best. Can't wait to see pics!

Sunflour, hope you feel better soon. Along with sav-a-chick, I also keep a bottle of Nutri-drench on hand. One drop in the beak can work wonders on an ailing chick. Good to have around.

Cough med has worn off and I am feeling so much better, guess the stronger dose second round of antibiotics is actually working.

Thank you for the tip on the Nutri-drench.

Almost to Rawlins-

Keeping my fingers crossed all goes well with the chick shipment

I've never had these 3 breeds of chicks before, they're so sweet! They all settle right down in my hands when I pick them up, don't remember the previous chicks I had doing that. I hope the Welsummer's you get end up being as calm.

Blooie will be here shortly (around 10am) and there will definitely be pictures...of her, of chicks and who knows what else!

I don't remember what all you had before, but remember you did have RIR's --- told ya they weren't so sweet

Betcha your new babies are just responding to their new Chick Mom's attitude :)

Good morning folks

Sunflour Thank you for the advice, I posted my question on the ‘managing your flock’ forum. As you said, if there is any concern probably best not to use them and I am swaying towards that conclusion but thought I would post anyways out of interest sake.

Thanks also for the pot and stones tip. We were planning on building them some sort of perch-tree but when I saw the stumps I immediately thought of that use for them.

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better.

N F C Oooh, how exciting! I can’t wait for the pics!

D M C Did you get chicks also? Love the tool box!

I am excited to hear how the meet is going [went … stoopid time difference!] and of course, baby pictures!

I just checked my society finch hatchlings. The mother has managed to squash one baby and the others all have empty crops. One looks to have recently hatched so it's still plump. So I have them inside wondering what the heck I do! I've got food into one of them (not easy when they would fit on my thumb nail)! What fun! Glad I shot out and did my Easter shopping this morning! Wish me luck!

Oh my gosh. Not much of a mothering instinct. But she makes pretty babies. Good luck with your brood!

Those egg shells look like Easter candy, the newborns are all so , so cute.

Been a busy day here. Messed with the chicks. Met Blooie. Had fun. Messed with the chicks. Took a nap. Messed with the chicks. Finally here on BYC!

Here are a few pics of the little ones!

This is one of the Welsummers (Bob, the member I got them from, dabbed their heads with silver)

I "think" this is one of the Legbars

This is the one I named Bobbi after the member I got them from, she's the Sapphire

So there they are, so nice to hear chirps again!
