That's the problem trying to find favorite threads. I'm not trying to snub anyone, just can't find you all.
Weird when I did find a thread I liked (Scott gave me a link) it made me log in before I could post. I am logged in all the time, and I had posted on that thread for years and yet had to do another log in. Is it just me?
How long has she been broody? Maybe she's almost over it and you'll want to keep herI still have a broody buff who is driving me crazy. I've never had 1 that's taken so long to break.
I can still tell which one is Violet - a little blu-kote remains on the toe tip - but her nail is growing back - and she has the biggest poopsYou might have to give them legbands so you can tell them apart.
So no more middle of the night feedings? Glad to hear they are all doing well.I'm going to try feeding them every 4 hours, so just 4 times in a day. I am looking forward to them weaning
Now a polar blast!
Could the link be taking you to a new sign in page? That's the only thing I can think of that could explain that.Weird when I did find a thread I liked (Scott gave me a link) it made me log in before I could post. If I went in to BYC on the app I never had to sign in but if I went in on an email notice I had too, now I have to sign in on both. That's the problem trying to find favorite threads. I'm not trying to snub anyone, just can't find you all.

Good morning Sunflour! She's been broody around 3 weeks. She didn't have a pleasant personality before going broody, I won't get another Buff as I don't care for either of the ones I have.

Just thought I'd say "Hi everybody". It's a bit quiet round these parts. I have a couple of cute cat photos:
Our Mistletoe must've brushed up against the fireplace utensils and ended up with soot on her nose.

But she sure loves that fire on these chilly mornings!View attachment 973510
I've discovered rats have been chewing holes in my run wire to get through - it's not the best wire. We've used planks of wood to cover the holes for now and are setting traps. We caught a very little rat the other night - in the live trap of course! He couldn't have chosen one of the other two options. And I ran my hands under my roosts this morning to check for mites (it's become a habit) and found a few smears of blood. So I dusted the roosts all over with some powder a breeder makes down south that has flowers of sulphur, neem powder, and rotenone in it. I couldn't find any evidence anywhere else of the little suckers but I'll keep on top of it that's for sure. It seems whenever the rats turn up, so do the mites. That's despite the frosty mornings we've been having.
Hope everyone is keeping well, and out of trouble.
Good Morning. It has been quiet on this thread, but so much going on around here with the change over. I think things will settle back to "normal" soon.
Mistletoe is so cute - interesting how she got that soot so symmetrical.
Glad you found the rats entrance and can fix it - I never used to know that rats, squirrels and other rodents could cause so much damage. Squirrels here eat my outdoor christmas lights ( yes, glass) and chew thru the wires while they are plugged in.
Good luck with the mite/rat issues.

Good morning Jae and Sunflour! Mistletoe is so pretty! I almost lost my Opie 2 weeks ago...he spiked a high temp, took him to the vet and she gave him an antibiotic and a fever reducer and he was lethargic for a couple more days and started to get better and then relapsed and I thought I'd have to put him down, but then he started getting better again. My other cat Spuds was kind of lost there for a week as he had no one to wrestle with. I now have 3 broody chickens. I've kept them in a big tub for the last 2 nights to keep them out of the nesting boxes and let them run free during the day as they are causing pure chaos....which means the others are stuck in the coop for the day. I feel bad but the one girl is kicking my butt. I don't thick the other two will take as long to break as they've both been through it before, . I'm glad I don't have rats...that I've seen anyway!! Have a great day all.Just thought I'd say "Hi everybody". It's a bit quiet round these parts. I have a couple of cute cat photos:
