The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I agree @NickyKnack !! I'll add a :lau or :lau:lau. Nice find Debby.

BTW, I THINK that skin is in fashion this year, maybe your avatar might take notice ;)

Bruce, it took me a while to find but here's a skin avatar for you, lol

If I go anywhere that’s not local I usually go with a friend or hubby. I really don’t like driving. If hubby and his dad hadn’t pushed me to get my license I probably still wouldn’t have it. I have google maps on my phone....her talking annoys me:lol:
Turn left. Turn right. Make a u turn. She is bossy, and she never tells you to stop. Makes you want to run the stop sign to get that turn done.

Apple maps sucks and is often wrong, you gotta download Google Maps!

Seems like you are a candidate for a talking navigation system. They aren't perfect, you still have to use your common sense, but they will get you "there" 99.9% of the time. May not be the most direct route, but getting lost isn't either ;)

True lol

I think you can change the voice?

I have a funny GPS story …..

Hubby is not a fan of GPS or asking directions, so when we were trying to find the Cat Specialist, he was driving and being in the passenger seat, I fired up the GPS which worked well until we hit road works and she kept sending us in a square!

So, he goes to work the next day and delights in telling the story to his colleagues and how his dislike of GPS is warranted. Anyways, one of his colleagues is South African and he relayed the story of how his GPS caused him to “drive into the ocean” to which quick witted hubby replied “and you washed up here?” .. cracked everyone up! :lau

:lau omg

Right!? Says to turn and moves on to the next direction before you do. Hello, I have to wait for traffic or the light, etc. lol

I have to admit I am 70 and have not driven a day of my life. Passed the written test in HS but, too scared to learn to drive. My mother never did either, and several of my aunts.
I think no driving was genetic in my family. Also not one swimmer in generations.

Oh wow!! I can't imagine not swimming or driving lol

I only got my license last April, my parents made me take the class in the fall lol I was too lazy in high school mostly and my mom didn't want me to/was worried.

I'm 23 now

We got to take the test at the school cause they had someone come up so it was really easy cause I'd practiced the exact test a million times and they're kind of mean at the registry and the test is harder lol

I actually didn't pass the first time though.

I had parallel parked a million times perfectly fine but when it came to the test, I was so nervous that I hit a cone which I had never done before. Right away, like the first thing on the test lol I cried but then I retook it and was fine!

Good grief, how did you survive? I practically lived in the water growing up. And no driving? How did you ever go anywhere?
