The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I can't imagine what a skunk must smell like.
No but were you to smell one, you would say "PEE UUUU, that must be skunk!" At least I did the first time I smelled one. It was on the road. You learn something about skunks fast. If you see one on the road ahead (99% of the time dead) get your car to "recirculate" FAST. Too late once you can smell it, especially if you pass over it.

I think there is something you can get from the vet but I’m going to let the stench wear off.
It will likely SLOWLY wear off ... until she gets wet, then it will come back. I hope she never comes in the house or the entire place will likely smell of skunk for some time. You nose will probably learn to ignore it, but your guests might wrinkle their noses ;)

DMC, don't know if how effective this is, but when a friend of mine had a skunked dog, he gave the dog a bath using mustard mixed in with the soap. He said mustard will really take that stink out.

Anyway, everyone knows dogs and mustard go together :lau

Good morning everyone!

@JaeG so sorry about Squeaky. It's hard when we get attached and then lose them. :hugs to you and your DD.

@Teila are you getting some sunshine yet or still swimming in all the rain?

@ronott1 any chance the smoke is clearing off your way?

Other than some errands in town, I'm going to have a quiet day right here at home (yay!).

Time to get a cup of coffee!
Smoke was worse yesterday as the wind shifted to a south wind. It is better today because we had a little bit of rain last night. We need more though to end the fire season.

Southern CA is still in danger-- Santa Anna winds are starting up down there and they did not get rain
