@Teila....Omu is a good name, but if he/she were mine, I would like the name Peach
Cheeks and call her Peaches for short :)

I kind of like Sweet Cheeks myself

Thank you both, yeah, I like those names also but as per Chimee and Syba, I try to be 'different' and creative with names. I went with Omu kind of 'in memory' of my FIL's dog Inu [Japanese for Dog]; I always liked that name and he was a beautiful dog so I thought of looking up Japanese for parrot and liked Omu as a name.

Funnily enough, I sent hubby an e.mail yesterday when he was at work with the update that the possible owner did not turn out to be the owner and that we may have a new baby and I made the subject of the e.mail 'Peach Face'. He told me last night that he read it as 'B@#ch Face' [if you get my meaning] so regardless of what I pick as a name, hubby will probably call the poor thing that  Assuming he comes to live with us that is ;)

It should be OK with the cats. As you might know, they are indoor only cats with an outside run so Omu will spend his days in a shady spot somewhere in the garden and night time on the deck, close to us and where the cats can not get to him .. see, making plans for something that may not happen :p I think I will be disappointed now if his owner does show up, happy for him but not so much for me ;)
You have a soft heart:hugs

I am so sorry! Are you considering a Tessla battery for your solar?
Some people I know ordered theirs Monday, after the wind blew down several trees and a lot of the shingles off their roof. The Tesla Powerwall was already in the plan, just bad timing! Sadly they are pretty expensive but now come in a more useful 14 kWh version (prior were 7 and 10 and Tesla got rid of the 10). I wouldn't mind having one :)

There was a hawk just sitting on top of the chicken run this morning. Thankfully the run has a roof on it but the darn thing was just sitting there taunting my chickens.

How big was the hawk? We had a Merlin in the barn last summer, I managed to chase it out but it wasn't all that afraid of me. Saw a small hawk out on the birdhouse a couple hundred feet back of the little barn last weekend. Might have been another Merlin. SUPPOSEDLY they won't bother a grown large fowl but come around during migration picking off smaller song birds. No shortage of those around here.

I have picked out a name ‘Omu’ [pronounced Oh-mer] which is Japanese for parrot.
My Japanese speaking (to some extent) daughters say it is pronounced Long O, soft u: Oh-mu. No japanese words end with a solo consonant other than "N".
I'm sure little Omu will be very happy with you if its original owner is not found.

Power back on at about 5:30 last night though I didn't know that until 7. DD2's surgery went well, she is her "usual" self tonight. Did the alternating Tylenol/Advil per the schedule yesterday, nothing today. We didn't bother to fill the Oxycodone prescription. Not sure why he would give her something that heavy duty. Probably doesn't know what her pain tolerance is. She took one Tylenol 3 after her wisdom teeth were pulled, same thing when she fell, shoved the ball of her upper arm bone up into the socket and broke her arm.

Thank You! I wanted to go with Oh-Mu not Oh-Ma but hubby thought it was pronounced Ma. Excellent, Omu [Oh-Mu] it will be then! :clap

Aaaw gees, I sure do hope all this excitement is not for nothing :fl :p
