The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

They have been talking about all kinds of cures for years. My theory is they make so much money off medication for diabetics that it's not profitable to cure it.

I cannot imagine a life without diabetes. I cannot remember what it felt like to just eat food, and do whatever you want each day without constantly checking blood, taking shots and dealing with all the crap that comes with it. I am so tired of being like this.
My Oldest DD had a boyfriend that was a type 1 diabetic. It was painful to watch him deal with it!

Well, nobody asked me if I wanted to live with only 1 kidney from 5yrs old, or have 2 heart attacks, a disabled leg, and the lungs of a 113yr old at 59 either, but it is what it is and wishing, wanting, or dreaming never changes nothing....so, we all just keep on going as best we can until ya can't no more....I'd rather go out digging a post hole than lying in a bed waiting for some minimum wage worker deciding to bathe, feed, or give me meds....I refuse to go to the hospital again and will just ride the wave all the way to shore....:)

My Dad taught us at an early age that life was a struggle and that it was painful.

He had Multiple Scherosis and died at 63 from congestive heart failure.

It was a great lesson! Struggling and having pain indicates that one is alive. We all deal with this in some way or other. I have paralysis in my right foot from a crushed sciatic nerve. I am very thankful that it is not as bad as other things though.

Chickens help when I feel sorry for myself. They make me smile :yesss:

That's the reason I got animals...not only do I enjoy them, but it gives me a reason to go out and tend to them even when I may not feel like it....it sure beats being depressed or sleeping "Life" away...:)
Me too!

And the eggs I get to enjoy too.

We have goats, chickens, ducks, and cats for now....my wife pretty much handles the chickens and cats....I deal with the goats and ducks....I prefer ducks over chickens....but the variety can get interesting. We are adding Gabbie next month, so she will fall on me, I'm more of a dog person and the wife likes cats....:)

It sounds like a great assortment of Animals there!

I wouldn't go that far to say milk is gross. Those sugars are key to the newborn calf to get it up and going, especially if the calf's brown fat reserves have been used up.;) Plus it's nutritious for us...not just empty calories and sugar. Moderation is the key to most foods.

I drink water for all my meals and finish with a coffee/tea. I start with a glass of water plus my meds before I make the coffee for my breakfast. That way I start out hydrated. Water also can help to control food cravings...because you're body's really needing water, not food. I'm making myself thirsty writing this. Going for a glass! :gig

That's very true! I do like milk but it just has so much sugar and fat

And oddly I do have water with most meals and do carry one around so I guess I do drink more water than I thought but I still not enough

LOL

I love water! I keep 4 big water bottles in the fridge and go through them every day. DH makes fun of me because I always have to have one with me :D

Yeah sometimes I have like a million bottle sin my room, half drunken

The song i keep singing and thinking of is Timothy.

I don't think I've ever heard of that one

I don't actually buy Metamucil, I just was thinking what old people would buy. I get my fiber from eating vegetables.

Haha nice.

I need to eat more fiber and vegetables ha

I have been reading about new Genetic methods to fix the pancreas. If so, you might one day get off of insulin.

:fl

Sadly, I think it is the same with cancer. I always hear of soo many new possible cures but nothing ever comes of it. It's a shame they would rather make a profit off people's suffering than try to cure them.

And I am so sorry! :hugs

Yeah, chiclens rock! Get me outside. The sun is great today. Shopping, getting great deals! Restore doesn't open until 2 today i think. So i am eating lunch at Wendy's. Free fries!

You guys all have such good attitudes! And sorry for all the pain and suffering :hugs

I usually try to have a pretty good attitude most of the time but I am a baby about pain hah

And I've got way more aches and pains than a 23 year old should but that's probably my lifestyle choice ha maybe if I start eating better it will change

And about the animals, I LOVE having them and they do make me happier but lately I haven't been taking care of the chickens as well as I should and I barely go outside hah
