The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Bob, you must enjoy having turkeys, I see in your signature you have 4 breeds and you have those pretty Palm ones).
I do... I'm trying to build a good base to breed from, but it is challenging. This spring I hatched out way too many Toms and it's looking like all the BRs are Tom and all the RPs are hens. Still way too soon to tell on the youngest group, so I might get lucky. I need to select my Tom Breed pool, but it's a job I put off as long as I can.

Good morning friends :frow

Thank you for the transmission tip Ron :thumbsup

Bruceha2000 The mechanic did not want to replace the coolant until he knew for sure that all the leaks were repaired; didn’t want to waste/lose $60 worth of coolant. So, as the car is due for its 150,000km service anyways, booked it in for that on hubby’s next RDO and we will also know then that she has not been overheating and it is safe to replace the coolant, flush the cooling system etc.

Just a reminder that I am going to be AWOL for a few days, off to Brisbane and the work Christmas Party.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Have fun, stay safe and enjoy! :hugs

If you spend a good amount of time with them early on, they'll become lappers and are much more like big feathered dogs. But always very chatty. And incredibly curious.

Turkeys are in your face from day one.

None will be sitting in my lap, they are too big and prone to pecking things. They are more interactive than chickens, but they also can be bigger pests.

They love human interaction. My black hen would ride in the gator with me and set on my lap or shoulder. She'd fly to me when I started up the logging trail.

They sound amazing and exactly like my kind of animal! Haha

Yeah, I can see how that 'thinning out' would be hard. Here at our house, that's DH's job (cause I'm just a big chicken).

Teila, you have a wonderful time in Brisbane and at your party! You'll look smashing in your new duds! Be safe but have fun.

Got Gator a new collar and I love it. It matches his harness (which is actually 2 years old but we only recently found and started using it again). IMO they look really nice together but idk. Also we light up the night now too lol

Here it is

And here it is on him. Along with the matching harness of course.
