The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Yeah developers never want to get the "idiot calls" to level 1. Kudos for keeping your sanity (to some degree). And yeah, if something truly needs to be addressed by a developer, it is never a 1 hour job. At that point you are scrounging through code, likely in debug mode so you can check the contents of variables, trying to recreate the problem ... once the user has given enough useful information that you can do so. Not exactly free to take level 1 calls.

Thanks, but I don't siphon, would make DH do it :D I have witnessed him siphon gasoline once :sick

Oh my, he could have waited til you walked away :duc

:thumbsup..glad he got "lit" up :)
There's been some stuff in the news about contracted folks with Amazon deliveries...taking poops on video :sick . Throwing boxes, kicking boxes...:barnie. I am thankful for the very nice post office lady and UPS/Fed Ex folks who come here :)

We once made a trip to FL panhandle, the next morning Weather Channel said it was snowing in Macon/home...so DH bought a snow shovel and we came home immediately to only find rain :hit....so that's why DH doesn't believe the weather folks :)

I'm on my way...gotta see me some snow :bun. Maybe better you post pics, I gotta work tomorrow.

If your weather is not over 70 F....IMO place those in fridge and use them.

You never know, you could plant them and see what happens :idunno. 2 years old...betcha they will grow :D
I saved 10 out of 2 dozen. I just don’t trust the rest. There were several cracked ones so they froze.

Oh boy, I could use some of your wind and cold weather Debby - it's hot as Hades here in NZ. I remember it being like this 7 years ago - I only remember because I was pregnant with my son, and in my last trimester, and it was hot from November onwards (he's a February baby). Usually we don't get heat like this until the middle of January and all through February, maybe into March, then it cools off again.

Apparently the Tasman sea (between us and Aussie) is much warmer than usual. The ocean temps on the West Coast are at what they wouldn't usually reach until March. On the West Coast of the South Island it's the same temperature as East Coast Auckland beaches. Crazy!

Our last two young cockatiels finally got their wings clipped. One decided to take off and get stuck in the little gap down the back of the cabnet that holds the wall oven and microwave, plus a little cupboard up top. I had to fashion a scoop skinny enough to fit in the gap and stick it to a long pole then convince the poor terrified baby to get in it!!! Talk about stress!!!
I’ll send you our snowstorm Jae:lol:

Morning!

@rjohns39 I agree with you about the daily "serious" news...that stuff's depressing!

@JaeG you want any of this wind and cold, come help yourself we have enough to go around. It's been snowing and blowing since last night. Glad you were able to rescue the little bird, that must have been nerve wracking!

@sunflour if you were really my friend you would have warned me about that time-eater known as Pinterest. Talk about falling down rabbit holes! I did, however, find a couple of good recipes, enjoyed some funnies and learned that I too can make a gingerbread house snow globe in only 78 steps (oh sure!).

@Teila I hope you aren't glued to your chair with IT problems again today.
I love Pinterest!

Good Morning Friends :frow

Starting the day with a chuckle:

Yikes it was hot here yesterday and so humid last night. Today’s predicted maximum is 93F :sick

Still suffering some fallout from the weekend release today but it has eased off enough that I might get a toilet break :p

Carpricorn the signs look great! I would love one but the postage would be a bit pricey!
I love it!

It just isn't worth pushing it in the heat and humidity there @Teila ....frequent breaks for some cooling off really pays in the long run...ya have to build up to it as the season develops and a hand towel with cool water or ice water wrung and place around the neck will help to cool the brain and make ya feel more refreshed.

I took programming classes back in '77-78 and even took a keypunch course....was programming in RPG and COBOL....went to work for a service bureau as an operator on a Burroughs computer and all the info was fed into the machine thru cases of punch cards. I left the computer field and chose to perform manual labor the rest of my life.....spent 17yrs in warehousing and loaded and unloaded trucks for about 6-7yrs before driving an 18 wheeler.....:)
We never know what life has for us!
