The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

When my parents came home from the hospital after my little sister was born, mom slipped on the sidewalk as she was carrying the baby. Mom's feet went out from under her, the baby flew out of her arms and landed in a deep snowbank head first. Good thing they'd had a lot of snow that year!

(And you can bet my brother and I had a lot of good times teasing our little sister with that story!)
There’s been many jokes about that over the years but a true case with your sister, uffda!

In this vast land of Freedom, I'm very glad that I chose to remain in the Southland where the weather is much more to my liking....I hate Cold....:)....and as my body ages, it doesn't like it much either.

In 2010 I left KS to move to FL, swearing I'd never be so cold again. Well, that lasted 6 years, lol. Then DH got a job in WY. You know what they say...something along the lines of God laughs at man's plans!

Definitely! Good thing sis was a winter baby and not a summer one. And lucky for mom too :)
Except your mom wouldn't have slipped on ice in the summer ;)
You sister is lucky, she can blame EVERYTHING on landing on her head as a very young infant :D

Lots of "we are working to fix it" and "aim to have it restored by tomorrow" but no information as to the actual cause of the issue.
Oh yeah, someone higher up knows something got FUBARed. What do you bet the developers said "it will take this long" and management said "do it in less time". There was once a 2nd level on a big project with a sign on his desk that said something like "There is never enough time to do it right the first time but there is always time to do it over". Presumably a suggestion that enough time SHOULD be given the FIRST time. No surprise he was pushing the schedule, things did not go well when the project was "finished on time".

Not only that but people who have done the right thing and logged a ticket have to wait while queue jumpers get fixed via the phone. Not fair in my book.
"Hello, this is Teila, how can I help you?"
"Did you open a ticket?"
"No? Well I am not allowed to work on anything that isn't officially logged first and everything must be done in the order received. You may talk to my manager if you like. Have a good day."

Hey Bruce, not sure how much you know about this topic but curious if you know of any good dog sledding places in Vermont, particularly around Bolton Valley?? I am Googling but thought maybe you might have personal experience or know someone who has. Of course living in Vermont doesn't mean you know everything about it so sorry about that hah but figured I'd ask
Sorry, nothing I've ever looked into.

I used to walk a 1/4 mile to the school bus with wet hair...stupid! I don’t do that anymore.
Maybe because you don't have to go to the school bus anymore?

I was living in FL on 3acres and would actually prefer to still be there, but with the heart attack and leg injury we lost all that we had, so moved up here to Mom&Dad's place.....I was born in Homestead, FL....so, I did move north, but still considered south.....:lau

Been through Homestead many times!

Yep, moved north but it's still the south. Sort of like when I moved from the Keys to north FL...moved north but still in the south :) I liked living in the south. No place is perfect but it was nice to live someplace imperfect but warm!
