The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Anyone else confused now?

I'm thinking I must be y'all's older sister, since mine was a couple of days ago.

No idea what cigarettes cost here, pneumonia when I was a kid left me with such a sensitive respiratory system, just standing downwind gets me hacking. But I hear there is a brisk black-market trade web here on the east coast. Cigarettes are bought (or better yet, stolen) in states with low taxes on them, and sold in states with high taxes. Your tax dollars at work.:th

Happy belated birthday!

Morning all, looks like it's birthday time in general!

@Bunnylady hope you had a good one. @Blooie hope you have a fun b-day today. And @Teila hope your birthday is great (whether that's today or tomorrow, I got lost in that discussion).

So for all of that...

They didn't smoke...they used their flavored, extra fancy, better-for-you vapes. Those things stink! But they did use the exhaust fan and stand right in front of it. :idunno
Same difference!! And, as you know with DD1s fragrance sensitivities that developed about 12 years ago, one doesn't even walk through our front door wearing any sort of "stink".

But oddly it varies depending on state. It should be federal.
Some states have a tobacco economy, not as much as a few decades ago though. But I think you would be hard pressed to get them to ban smoking. YEARS ago, like about 30 I guess, I went to my sister's in Manassas, VA and took an overnight trip to Charlotte N.C. to see friends that had moved there from here. We went out to a restaurant and being used to the "smoker separation" in such places here asked to be seated in the no smoking area. The look I got suggested I had recently escaped from the looney bin. I suppose by now they would know about such areas. ;)

I generally figure that what other people do is their business, not mine, but when I'm going through the grocery store and can tell which aisles another shopper has been through by the scent trail they have left behind, maybe that's a bit much?

And though I don't notice it, I sometimes wonder if the scent of "eau d'animaux" clings to me with equal intensity.
