The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good question. I don't think they actually know.
The old one was 51% effective. The new one is 90%effective.

Answer to the not having chickenpox question:

Q: I Never Had Chickenpox. That Means I’m Not at Risk of Shingles and Don’t Need to Be Vaccinated, Right?
Sorry, but you should still get vaccinated. According to the CDC, more than 99 percent of people over 40 have had chickenpox, so you probably had it at some point even if you don’t remember it.

Hope he perks up soon, I was sick over 2 weeks around Christmas, took 2 rounds of antibiotics and a really big needled shot to recover.

You cannot get chicken pox from one with shingles - just make sure the one with the outbreak has those areas covered. I'm worried our young folks will eventually get chicken pox when they are too old to handle it...like the past problem we had with inadequate/incorrect timing of the measles vaccine :barnie

ON a brighter note, a neighbor won the best Christmas Decorations in our state. (don't know them, just live really close by). But did do a drive thru to see the lights this year. We could hear their music every night from Thanksgiving til after Dec 25th :)

(as you do - pearl patterned mallard ducks stuck in the ceiling:confused:)
Um, I don't recall EVER having a dream about ducks stuck to the ceiling!

Must have been a night for weird dreams. Princess woke up mad at me for something I said in her dream ? She couldn't remember what it was , but remembered that it was really bad. :th
What ever it was, DON'T do it again!

Sorry, i meant the connection cover thingies you can out over the connections, wasn't sure what those were called.
Got it. I know what you are talking about and yes you should find yours or buy a new one to cover the cord to dish connection.

And no, you don't have to read this entire post. Just venting.
TOO LATE!!!!

I have never had chicken pox and I’ve heard you can get them if your exposed to someone with shingles. One of the people I clean for had weeping shingles the other day and out the door I went...there was no going in the next room to avoid the cooties:barnie
Yes you can get chicken pox from someone with shingles but you have to be in contact with the weeping pus stuff, just stay clear.

The only thing I know about shingles is that people say they are very painful. Look after yourself!
I will attest to this fact. Worst pain in my life including kidneys stones that landed me in the ER.

All of us in that age group(over 35) are supposed to get the new vaccine.
They don't usually give it to people under 60. Of course I had shingles when I was < 55.

False, see above. You can't get SHINGLES from someone with shingles. But yes keeping the oozing areas covered. And see a doctor, they gave me gabapentin.
