Hey Cap dinner looks delicious! :drool

Congrats N F C :clap

Woah, so I just took a look at the ‘Most Likes’ .. congrats to you to Cap! :clap

Awesome to see so many of our regulars at the top of the list! :bow :clap

JaeG your bubbies are adorable! Oh, and so, so tiny :love

Another big day in the garden …. got back from town and refreshed the mulch on the avocados and mandarin tree. After spraying any weeds that had dared to pop their heads in the garden bed along the pathway, topped up the mulch there also and dampened it down to stop it blowing away. Moved on to my ‘still not sure how to beautify it’ garden bed and pulled out a couple of hundred baby palms which sprouted last week when we had all the rain. They are from the fallen seeds which are everywhere and not much I can do about them :rant

As I mowed last weekend, I was not going to do it this weekend but the lawn was looking a bit scraggly and the forecast is for rain again next weekend, so rather than risk not being able to do it next weekend and battle 3 weeks growth the following one, decided that I should edge and mow.

Followed that with the planned staking of the capsicum and chilli plants which are now starting to flower, so hopefully some produce from them soon :fl

Found a couple of green grasshoppers which Blondie was most appreciative of :p :drool

Even though I bought some more Blitz Um, no green ants in the citrus trees so I might be winning that war and they appear to be staying high in the palms :smack

Now, it is Bourbon O’Clock! :celebrate
Thanks Teila!

Sheesh! Look at you guys GO! Number-of-post milestones, "like" milestones......could you all just wait a bit and let me catch up?

Those quail are so doggone cute, and I know how tiny they are! In Sioux Falls they have a big, gorgeous Butterfly House...I think it's called the Sertoma Butterfly House. Evan's other grandparents have been volunteers there for years, and when Evan goes back for the summers he volunteers there too. He remembers what it was like to be so afraid when the butterflies would land on him or hover in front of his face, so now his job is to take kids on tours, and he does it well! They have button quail living in the Butterfly House, and they are more or less allowed to just do their thing naturally. When the chicks hatch, a lot of the butterflies are bigger than they are! Um, but you do have to watch your step! :lau

That's quite a burger! Looks delicious. You MAKE your own buns? Shoot, not this cookie! Way too much work for me! I grew up with my burgers served on white bread, and still prefer them that way! The first time I ever saw a burger served on a bun was when the first McDonald's opened in Sioux Falls - I think that was in 1961 or 62 so I would have been 11 or 12.

45 degrees and rained all day yesterday. <sigh> And then it froze and snowed on top of the ice. Tam had a dickens of a time getting to work - the hospital/care center is located on a hill above the town of Lovell, so no matter which street you take you have to drive up and then back down those hills. I waited and waited for her to text me and tell me she'd made it. Lovell is 6 miles from here - took her 45 minutes to get to work. Then I was up early waiting for her to text me and tell me she made it home. I'd feel a lot better if she wasn't driving an old clunker with bad tires and wasn't coming home on that crap after a 12 hour overnight shift. Do they ever reach an age where we stop worrying?

Morning all:frow Finally back, just finished catching up with new folks and only 183 more posts to catch up here. :th

Welcome back Bob! You have a lot of catching up to do, not just posts but allllll those new members  Sheesh, I've never seen so many newbies start at this time of the year. Mostly the winter months would be slow in that forum until spring. What gives?

@Blooie you know parents don't ever stop worrying about their kids! That's why it's a good thing when they move away...what you don't know/can't see makes it a bit easier (still worry about them but they aren't right in your face).

It's snowing here! We're supposed to get 4-6" between now and tomorrow morning. We'll see, they usually don't get that right.

Safe travels to you & yours B!

I swear Kenny and Jenny can't catch a break...the furnace in their house died this morning, and it's beyond what even "he-can-fix-everything" Ken can do, and anything the kids can afford to fix or replace right now. Ken took it apart and the bearing is shot and the shaft is so worn and old that it has snapped in half. Of course, it has to be an old furnace and parts aren't available anymore. So I guess I'd better prepare for some house guests.....space heaters aren't going to cut it over there as big as that place is, and Ken is still concerned about the wiring. It's gonna be a long week.....
