Not sure if any were bred, she had one she said was bred but there was so much going on and they arrived an hour late and it was getting dark. So i will be getting in touch with her about that. I did breed the black Holland lop to Trouble the other day.
 
So I cleaned the chicken coop and the fish tank today and I am exhausted lol or mostly I just have a headache now but my back and feet are sore. In the new run I am going to make a run I can stand up in. This one is technically 6 feet but the wire is right in it plus I think there's at least a few inches of built up dirt and stuff so it's not really so I have to stand bent a bit which is uncomfortable.

Anyway, I went up to get changed into junky clothes to do that and got the idea, out of the blue, to clean the fish tank. So I started adding water. I was only going to add a bit but did the whole thing. Really, it probably needs water taken OUT of it cause it's gross but I didn't feel like doing that so I just added a bunch. And I only had 2 regular sized water bottles so it took FOREVER. Lots of back and forth between tank and tub in bathroom. Probably why my back hurts ha it wasn't quite half empty but maybe a quarter? Idk. It was missing a decent amount. So it took a lot of bottles. Also took the filter out and rinsed the one that stays in. Probably too much but the slime on it grosses me out. Wiped the outside and inside too. Then threw out the filter cartridge and replaced it. Put that back. And of course water conditioner and more bacteria. They were on the other side of the tank and zipped about when I approached an hour ago. Which is better cause lately they've just been sitting around in one end of the tank except when I feed them. Which btw I think I'm way overfeeding which is why it gets gross faster now. Plus they've probably outgrown that tank.

ANYWAY.

So then I cleaned the chicken coop. By this point I was tired and it was gonna get dark but I forced myself.

Oh and I went to Subway after class for an hour so home around 130 and idk really what i did ha but let the chickens out around 230 cause they escaped when I was filling food and I let them. By the time I did the fish tank I didn't go outside again until 3:30

So anyway, the coop smelled and was just poopy and needed it. But also, I haven't fully cleaned and emptied it in forever. Cause it was bad a while back and I just added a TON like whole bag of shavings on top of the old so it was fine for a long while but then now it's just been a bit too long.

So anyway, I decided to FULLY clean it for the first time in wayyy too long.

I couldn't find the wheelbarrow so I just used a wagon like those red plastic kids ones hah it took longer cause it holds less but oh well. 3 trips to the compost pile. Plus more i just gave up with ha oh and I used a shovel this time and wore gloves. Normally I just use my bare hands which is kinda gross and takes forever. The shovel was so much easier. But for the corners it didn't reallt fit hence when I just started throwing stuff on the ground. Which actually is what I normally do but it had been so long I didn't want them walking in it.

Anyway, the tray wouldn't pull out at first. I guess it had been so long/bedding got so compacted it got stuck??? But with a lot of effort and clearing out all the edges around the coop it came out.

I found some D.E. and put it on the tray and the nest box floors. I also took it and stuffed it/compacted in all the cracks, like between tray and wall, and on wall of coop, etc., everywhere, and rubbed roost bars in it too.

Then I filled the coop back up with a whole bag of shavings.

Oh and I cleaned the roof off. They sleep up there a lot so poop gets on there so I scrape off with a cat litter scoop and bucket. That was also gross and needed doing.

Dumped everything in compost.

Anyway, because I was so thorough and fully cleaned, spreading the D.E., multiple trips a few hundred feet to compost, etc., etc., it took about an hour and a half or two hours. I came in maybe around 5. The poor chickens were wandering around clucking and confused cause it was time to go back into the run and to roost and I was im the way lol

Anyway, I also decided to clean so thoroughly and especially the obsessive D.E. application cause some have a poop butt lately and also the eggs are getting dirty cause the coop was.

So hopefully that helps.

They loved free ranging and were also extra loving and social and friendly today lol

And sorry, no clue why I went into all the detail. I think you all know how to clean a chicken coop lol

Anyway, i am going to bed early.

And after my classes tomorrow, I have no more until Monday. I think I will sleep in on Friday and breathe then work later that day or Saturday and Sunday.

Teila, hope today at work goes better for you. If not, I think you should go home, sit in front of your air cooler, and have a double, lol.
