The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Yep

Not anymore though, I bombed, surface sprayed and pretty much went ninja all over them and now keep up the monthly treatment.

I did not need to worry about it before because the cats are inside cats and do not wander anywhere to get fleas but now, with Jessie coming and going and picking them up from all over the village on her walks, I have to be vigilant.
You go girl, they are awful critters.

Hey Michelle, how's piggy doing? Hope he's feeling better.
He's doing quite a bit better. He's eating and drinking. His back legs are still pretty stiff. He's not doing his usual run around like a crazy thing when I drive up & he's not barking like usual, but he's definitely getting there.

Yep, I hate fleas.

While I may come across as just ranting or venting, I kid you not that this place was a mess when I got here and I am not kidding when I say nothing had been done for 10 years! It took me weeks to get the SS kitchen sink clean and stain free and I had to vacuum 10 years worth of dead stuff out of the window tracks and spray the window hinges with lubricant to open them! Do not start me on the bathroom :sick Thick dust, dead geckos and cobwebs everywhere. 10 years worth of spills and stains on the white kitchen cupboards and on the floor .. seriously living my worse nightmare. It is still not clean but I can't do it properly because of the clutter.

I was not joking when I mentioned that my first night here I sat on the camp bed and cried, trying to work out where I was going to book a flight to and set up home on my own!

Cool! :clap I do hope he continues to improve.

I feel your pain! The only house I actually cried and left, then came back again was a house that had gone back to the bank and I was asked to clean it so they could show it. HORRIBLE! I was afraid of diseases in that one. Never again. I charged them $20 an hour, thought the banker was going to stroke out. I should have charged double that.

I don’t love cleaning but I’m good at it. I work for myself and I like that I’m my own boss. I’m at the point in my life if it does not spark joy I do not keep it. I won’t keep moving stuff around. To me it’s just clutter but to each their own. I only have to worry about the house I live in:)

That's a good point!

I also always read the if you haven't touched it in like 6 months to a year to throw it out.

But I just can't bear to do that lol

But I also think I just don't have enough room in my room for everything.

I mean, I'm sure there's probably some junk I keep but don't really need (okay maybe a lot lol)

But a lot is also just books and band merch lol

They both want it cleaned but she loves her dogs and is willing to put up with their messes I guess. Her husband can’t stand it but loves his wife. I stepped in fresh poop one day and flipped out. Next check I had a raise. Sad thing is the house is only 10 years old. I love my cats but sure as heck ain’t gonna let them poop wherever they want.:rant

If she loved them she would house train them. Letting them poop inside isn't really love. In fact, they are probably bored out of their minds!

And that poor husband. :(

Think that wife is missing a few brain cells, who wants animals pooping in the house???
Someone should tell her the dogs would love to go out and poo outside and sniff around to discover what other forms of life have come by.

Exactly!

They do go outside for a limited time and then come in and pee. Last time I was there I saw one lift his leg and pee on a basket of clean laundry, couldn’t believe it.

She used to put them out for them but haven’t seen one lately. I think she gave up.

OMG wow! Gross!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts regarding Castor; no news as yet.

DMC Good way to think “To me it’s just clutter but each to their own. I only have to worry about the house I live in”. Sadly, I have to live in this cluttered one :lau

:sick On pets pooping in the house!

When I arrived a couple of months after hubby and a few weeks after the cats, I found that, for the first time, the cats had fleas! So did Jessie, FIL’s dog and the carpet and pretty much everything else. FIL gets Jessie hydrobathed once a fortnight but I am sure the lady that does it is ripping him off and the supposed flea treatment he thinks she is getting does not work … So, I slip Jessie a chewable flea tablet once a month [cos the angst of raising it with FIL is not worth it] and the cats get done also. No fleas now!

Diva my sister lives in another state, south of me and even though they would also get hot days, the dogs would not feel it sleeping on the couch or the bed under the air conditioner; trust me, those dogs live better than the humans ;)

Good you are doing that!

A barking pig!?

Ewwww! How did he live like that? That just seems really unhealthy. He just didn't care or?

I think it is just a state of mind; he lived alone, he had other distractions, computer [internet and blogs] and Anime and yeah, does not care or does not bother him. Which is fair enough .. it does, however, bother me ;)

All he really does all day is sit in one of his offices on the computer and walks the dog; that is it.

I believe the clutter is basically because 'I might need that some day' and also again, it does not bother him. He is a bit of a doom and gloom type and is prepping for doomsday which also explains all the 'stuff' around the place.

Aw wow that is awful but also kind of sad. Mayhe he is/was a little depressed too?

I just mean like I don't get how he lives with dead lizards..

Yep, it is sad and yes, I do think there is some depression involved; having lost two wives to cancer. He can be cantankerous and has probably alienated some of the villagers but then he probably could not be described as a people person either.

I am not judging him if that is how he wants to live, but as I live here now also, I have to think of my well being too and while I will not mess with his 'clutter', I am not going to tolerate fleas, dirt, grime and general unhealthiness.
