The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thanks. I'm good. Tired, and planned to nap. But branches keep hitting the side of the trailer, the wind is whistling, and the kids are out driving in this, so the eyes wouldn't cooperate. Just a trip to the store for them, but this afternoon any trip isn't an easy one So I'm awake.

The wind was so bad that the north wall of the trailer was literally smacking against the headboard of the bed. Wording things delicately, Ken listened to it for a minute and then said, "Somebody's having an awfully good time in there, and it ain't me."

:yuckyuck I hope the wind eases and you get some rest!

Made it home just in time. Winds right now at sustained at 40, gusting to 60 but I think some gusts have been higher than that.
It is a shame they don't have hotels or motels in Billings where a person could wait out bad weather.

TC Iris is now a Cat 2
What, no Cat 2 picture??

Back to work after 4 days off; release was yesterday and as per usual, they broke something! :he
I am shocked, TOTALLY shocked!!!
:hugs

A comment or a complaint? ;)

Yeah, I was really surprised myself .. NOT!

I was contemplating having a sickie [which I know I can not do because my work ethic does not allow it] but "sore knee" is probably not a good excuse when you sit in front of a computer all day ;)

That’s on accounta it’s easier to ask someone else than take the time look yourself. Think of it as a husband looking for sugar in the cabinet by opening the cabinet door and immediately yelling, “Hey, honey...do we have any sugar?”.......while ignoring the canister partially full of it on the counter and not moving anything in the open cabinet to really look for the new bag. Hope the knee starts feeling better soon!

Yeah, but if you go live on a Sunday you should test in Production after release to ensure nothing is broken; not leave it up to the users to advise you of obvious issues related to what you released.
What a world! You have to deal with too much

Thanks Ron; it is OK, it is my job I guess.

I hope I did not come across as harsh but it is frustrating that I see all the prework happening and end to end testing and go / no go's but nothing following the release.

As you mentioned, you can not fully know what will crop up until it is in Production so it makes sense to me to test just as much after as before; not just say "Yep, good to go", throw the switch and walk away.

It must be even more frustrating for the users because they do not see all of the above and basically have learnt to dread release day as much as I do.
