I had that happen last summer. We were camping and son went out to lock the girls up and he ended up having to shoot it. Girls were on the roost. Thankfully it didn’t stink too badOMG!
I just got home and went to close the pop door and there was a skunk making itself at home inside the coop!! All of the birds were calmly on their roosts like nothing was out of the ordinary. It moseyed on out almost right away. There were eggs in the nest box, but it didn't touch them.
My silkie sleeps under the nest boxes, so she went out to the run while the skunk was inside. Now she's as happy as can be out there ( she never goes out into the run) and she won't come inside. The people door for the run is frozen into 3" of ice, so I can't get in there to get her. I don't want to leave the pop door open in case the skunk comes back.

You definitely need a pump and filter unless you want a stagnant mess. You can put bubblers in to keep the water aerated which will help but with no water running through the pond, it will still get nasty unless it is filtered. Thanks, that's true. How deep would you say? There's not really a good spot to put it atm. I might put it on the hill if we clear some trees.
I hadn't thought of any of that. So would I need a pump or filter or something?
