Well..... I didn't come home from the sale with any birds per se..... just some hatching eggs 4 partridge chantecler, 4 buff chantecler & 4 EE.

Ooh, how do you manage wrangling pheasants? We had a pig rodeo once in TN, it was a hoot!

It's not easy! have to move my chicks around, separate, move their brooder to new areas, etc....

Good morning!

Busy afternoon yesterday, then rain & more hail made an appearance and everyone stayed home (very understandable). Between the last 2 hail storms, DH's truck was hit pretty bad so we'll have to get that fixed, once he can get fit in among the 130+ other vehicles in the area being fixed.

@Michelle Farmer-Brown I like your idea about working a food truck with you! That would be fun. Not sure about moving to Alberta though (someone has mentioned their long winters). Maybe we both just relocate to meet 1/2 way

Sorry about hubby’s truck. It was cool here today and windy! The sun did come out in the afternoon.

You know, you two characters could set up your food truck in Cowley...just sayin....

Therapy didn't go well yesterday. Kendra just can't get the hang of the mouse, and my computer is a touch screen so we thought we'd try that. Nope. I can't even tell you how many times she just randomly pressed, swiped, or touched something that closed out the entire session and we had to start over. She's so doggone fast that she'd hit the screen even as our hands were reaching for hers to stop her. <sigh> Well, guess we keep practicing.

Raining here too, but no hail so far, thankfully. Ken found a puppy he wants so badly he can taste it! But I keep seeing muddy pawprints all over the floor and furniture. As much as I missed Molly-ka-Polly when she died, I'd be lying if I said there are things I have enjoyed about not having a dog - I sure don't miss the dog hair, muddy prints, hearing the sound of erfing on the carpet in the middle of the night. I don't know if I want to start that all over again. Then there's the issue of traveling, but since this is a breed of dog our entire family has wanted since 1983 when we encountered our first one, and this one is right here in Cowley I may be outgunned. Tam immediately jumped into the conversation and said that she and Evan would be happy to have Pup stay at their house when we're gone. Her and her helpful but big mouth are the very reason we got chickens in the first place! So, here I sit - Ken's on his way to Sheridan and I'm sitting here waiting for an appointment to go over and "just look at it for me, honey".

@007Sean I had to wrangle a couple of pheasants last night too...had to move them from one wall to another.

What kind of pup? I can’t wait until Hattie is out of the puppy stage. She’ll be a year this month and still chews everything. Drives me nuts!

So, I was AWOL again yesterday.

As it happens, the second of the three transcription companies I applied to got back to me and advised “we would like to progress you to the next stage of our application process ….. “. They sent an application form and trial details for me to complete within 48 hours.

Now, while I am confident about the first company and I think my preferred option, I figured I might as well cover all my bases and continue to the “next stage” with the second company.

So, after completing the form, I go to print it to sign as electronic signature was not permitted. My 7 year old printer apparently ‘died’ sometime in the past 12 months I spent a fair while trying to revive it but no deal. So, quick dash into town to buy a new printer. Home to set it up. It’s first order of business was to scan the receipt for it and file it away as a legitimate business expense. Next, print, sign and scan the application form. Next, log onto their training site with the details they have provided for me to complete the trials.

I will mention at this point, some of the reviews I read online about this company indicate that some transcriptionists were not happy with them but I also wondered if the negative comments may be a result of not putting in 100% on their part. This is an industry where you get back as good as you put in and reward for result; so, if you are not successful, there is usually only yourself to blame.

Anywho, I log onto the ‘training site’ and create an account using the details they sent. Step 2. Complete Part I in the ‘My Courses’ section. I do not have a ‘My Courses’ Log out and back in again, nope still no courses. Managed to find the ‘Part I’ via navigation and even though I was given a password because “You will be prompted for a password for Part I’; no password required. I completed the 75 questions in Part I and on submitting, encountered an error message but I think it also recorded my answers as it said the ‘one attempt’ module had been completed and I could not sit it again.

Instructions then said to complete the Endocrinology and Ophthalmology exams with the passwords provided. Again, because of no ‘My Courses’ I searched for Part II and found it but there are no Endocrinology and Ophthalmology exams in Part II; lots of Clinical and Radiological and Emergency Assessment but no Endocrinology and Ophthalmology I messed around with it for a while, logged out and back in again but no luck. However, after the 4th or 5th relog, ‘My Courses’ magically appears But, still no Endocrinology and Ophthalmology. I even thought may be I need to do all of Part II but the passwords provided were not working on the other exams.

So, I gave up and sent them a response with my attached application and screen shots of the errors and issues I encountered and queried how they would like me to proceed.

Not a good start I am thinking! Fingers crossed that Option 1 is a goer before Option 2 gets back to me again. However, I am intrigued to hear what their response is.

Anyways, all that took until mid afternoon when I gave up and sat down to watch the football and the boys won!

Typical Sunday for me today. Finish housework, grocery shopping, watering etc.

She was even less impressed with a ride in my vehicle. She was drinking water in that picture and I disturbed her.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention …..

When I wandered down the stairs this morning to give the girls their breakfast, I said “Good Morning” to the baby sun birds as I walked passed the nest.

Hubby was downstairs at the time and says “I think they are gone”

Me: Gone? Gone where?

Hubby: I think they flew off.

Me: Flew off? When?

Hubby: Yesterday. They were learning to fly and one nearly crashed into me.

Me: You didn’t think to tell me?

So, I checked the nest and sure enough, the babies have flown the coop!

I really would have liked to have seen them before they left; specially watched their ‘learning to fly’ antics and to say good bye But, no, not only did hubby not think to mention it to me, I was upstairs wasting my time with less than ideal instructions and training platforms

Wish i could help you. I got pretty good at catching chickens in TN. I handled the chickens i have now so much as chicks that they follow me around the chicken yard. Only one i have issues with is Elvis, the polish roo. He is a jerk. Once my SS cockerel grows up, Elvis will be soup.

She’s a 13 week old Irish Wolfhound, top of our bucket list since 1983 and the stars are finally aligning. She had been placed, but the husband suddenly became very ill and has a lengthy hospitalization ahead, so they reluctantly returned her. That is good to know. The breeder said these people had such a great head start on her training and hated to return her, so Cari is holding their deposit for another litter in two years. I opted not to go look today because I decided Ken needs to be there. So we go over tomorrow afternoon and she’ll probably come home with us. In the morning Ken will break out the crate and clean it up while I go pick up some supplies. Cari (the breeder) knows Kendra. She came right out and said that a few of the other puppies were just too rambunctious and clumsy, so she wouldn’t have been really comfortable with us getting one of those. But this one is very mellow and laid back, so it should be a good fit and she would trust her. So unless something happens in the next 14 hours, it looks like we just crossed one thing off our bucket list.

I looove Irish wolfhounds! I just found someone nearby who just had a litter and am trying to whine & beg at the moment myself.
