The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Unfortunately, that's probably true Ron  Who needs reality tv shows when you can work in one?
The new show would have the benefit of being in Wyoming Too!

Netflix has a show called The Ranch so why not?

One of our Faculty was in a cycling accident over the weekend. I only know because one of the Staff told me about it. It is weird that we do not know stuff like this. He was found unconscious and has broken ribs at least. His classes are cancelled for the rest of the quarter--Couple more weeks here since we are on the Quarter system

I hope he'll recover ok Ron, sounds like a nasty accident.

Good morning, my friends. Late start this morning, doggone it! I'll read back when I have a few minutes. Last day with the girls, and Kendra has been into EVERYTHING already! She can now reach the faucet in the kitchen. I should probably just put a raincoat and hat on her and let her go, but she can also reach the HOT water faucet. Got her distracted from drowning us and she discovered that pushing the lever on the fridge makes ice cascade out onto the floor and Fiona chases the cubes across the floor. Oops, hit the "lock out" button. Into the living room where one of the tables has a little door and remotes and chargers are stored inside. WERE stored inside. And she's only been here for an hour......6 more to go. Ah, was there ever a time when we longed for her to become mobile? :lau

You need to Kendra proof the place!

Oh trust me, I want to.

But it's not that easy because we live in a very expensive area and I have the chickens and garden.

I am trying to save up enough though so I can or at least build my own place on the property.

I want to move out West and have a farm/homestead but that is very very expensive and not really practical without a boyfriend or spouse with additional income.

I might at least move to a cheaper area though and live in or near a city or something. Idk.

It's not supposed to be easy. The whole process is supposed to help us learn sacrifice and self-reliance, when to cut back and how to make our lives what we want them to be...slowly. We aren't supposed to have everything we want right off the bat. And self-reliance doesn't include waiting until someone else can help pay for things, unless you take in a roommate with a pre-arranged, written agreement. You'll get there, Grasshoppah...but not by waiting for someone else to do the hard stuff for you.

Back again! LOL .. quiet day at work! ;)

On a funny note, I spent quite a few hours the other day adding frequently used medical terminology to my word expander; meaning if I type the 'activating trigger' and the abbreviation for the terminology, it pops into the report in full.

Anyways, turned on the PC the next day, opened the expander to add some more and it was empty  I am embarrassed to say that it helps if you select 'Save' after adding things :smack

Let he who hath never missedethed the "save" button and lost stuff cast the first stone! :old I love that you took the high road!

Cap I think you are the energizer bunny in disguise, you keep going and going and going.
Me too! I get exhausted just reading it.

Morning :frow

@Teila that's great you and the almost former employer had a chance to talk. Maybe that will help make things better for your co-workers that continue to work there.

Got some bad news yesterday...a young man DH & I have grown close to is in some very serious trouble. Unfortunately, he's the maintenance crew boss and now DH is (again) short-handed and will have to take on even more day to day responsibilities. DH is already exhausted, so I'm concerned for him. Not a good situation for anyone connected. Any prayers for this young man's well-being would be appreciated.
They are on their way down to Sinclair now....NOT on the wings of severe thunderstorms and 8 tornadoes, but they're coming!

The new show would have the benefit of being in Montana Too!

Wyoming, not Montana, unless she escaped the golf course and blew past my place without stopping! What will they do about the remaining weeks? Hope he has a fast recovery and will be okay. Sounds like a terrible accident!

The talk yesterday was to get a sub in for the final classes. No word yet on it though.

Thank you, that's helpful and good point but I do want to clarify that I wasn't expecting anyone to pay for everything or do all the hard work or anything like that. I was just going by what I've seen on TV (House Hunters, etc.) And on social media with friends and family, which is that it seems like most young people get a job, start dating someone, then they get married, buy a house, and/or have kids. Seems like most people buy their first house together? So that's what I meant by that because I likely wouldn't be able to afford a house or huge lot (enough acreage for a farm) or anything like that by myself unless I saved for years and years or something. BUT. If I could find a place that I could afford by myself then I'd do that. Definitely not expecting anyone to pay, just going by what it seems most young people are doing or expecting to do.

But maybe the whole farm thing won't happen right away and I need to find an apartment or smaller house first?

But for that I definitely need to move to a different city because here the rent is in the thousands

That would be quite the class to walk into as a sub unless it was someone already on the faculty that teaches similar courses.
that is very true!

This Quarter he is teaching: Literature in English III: 1900-Present
