The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I opened an account many years ago because the bank had a branch just 2.5 miles from the house. Round trip was an easy walk and there was a grocery store and a Subway. So I would buy some groceries, and have lunch at Subway. Really living large, for me.

So of course the only branch they closed was the one near me. Next closest is 5 miles away but, I ride the senior bus and my grocery store is across the street of bank, also a Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Card Frenzy, a really nice card shop + costume jewelry, wrapping paper, scarves, sometimes fancy blouses etc.

I do not recommend Bank of America.

Thanks for the tip. I'll avoid them then. I think the branch is pretty small anyway. Any particular reason why? Just for curiosity/info.

I'm a dedicated credit union person myself. No banks for me.

What's a credit union?

I think my brother and his fiancé use Capital One. Is that one or is that a bank too?

Aw that stinks they closed it! I guess they figured they didn't need two though especially with the other one down the street? Abd with all those businesses around it, it seems like a better location business wise. But that's good it's still relatively close and you can ride the bus there. How is the Subway doing? Did they close that? I imagine the bank brought business.

Saw a fox tonight. Came out of the woods, passed by the old coop, on way to new coop but I saw it immediately (happened to be looking outside) and it ran off. Let dog out anyway (on leash of course) and he finally caught the trail and sniffed all over the yard then he bolted up front and actually made me nervous cause I dropped the rope and couldn't grab it, he was going too fast despite it being a 30 foot leash. Finally caught it after like 4 times though ha slipped under my foot a few times too. but anyway, he thankfully wasn't going anywhere, just tracking the scent across the front yard and up the hill where he continued to sniff all over and tried to go into the woods. Came back out and marked his territory. Must have come from there? He was hot on the trail. This one looked kind of whitish so maybe a different fox. We have a silver fox that's lived on the hill for years. My dad thinks he's very old but I say there's no way a wild fox could live that long as it's been like 10 or 20 years so likely it's offspring? Or I missaw it, could be odd lighting, and could be the red one.

Anyway, he didn't even notice. Was sleeping on his bed till I started shouting and ran out.

Dad is on the fence. Thinks he wouldn't have noticed it anyway because he was inside and foxes are very quiet and chickens were in bed so not squawking.

I partially agree and I did run out IMMEDIATELY so didn't even give him time to notice

But I do think something's wrong with him because he wouldn't have missed anything. I know it.

But between that raccoon and now the fox I'm nervous and annoyed.

My dad put hardware cloth on the fence though last night on the corner where it was getting in. I gotta go out tomorrow and put it on the whole fence but there's also 2 squares where the ramp connects to the run and bricks all around. I closed the pop door again tonight. That coon was just after the food but if a fox got in, he'd run right up the ramp and inside. Door's plenty big enough.

We also have to plant all the plants though as it's getting very late so I don't know. Gotta decide what to do.
Gotta keep the chooks safe!

Morning everyone!

It's back to work for me today, lots to do so guess it will go quickly.

Fun news...the Red Hat Ladies are coming back for their annual luncheon! I really enjoyed having them last year, they had a great time and were so pleased with everything. A very nice largish group of little very old ladies all dressed up in their red & purple and crazy hats, should be fun.
