The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I am sitting here wondering how and why Kendra is always so happy and so enthusiastic to face every day. I just got a look at her “list of existing conditions” and it’s overwhelming to see it in one place at one time. I mean, none of this is a surprise, but wow!

Spina Bifida
Tethering spinal cord
Hydrocephalus
Neurogenic bowel and bladder
Autism
Global developmental delay
Bilateral twisted tibia
Fragmented learning
Seizure disorder
Speech and language deficiency

It’s all she’s ever known, I know, so it’s her “normal”. But I’m in awe of her heart, her courage, and her determination. If there was an award for “Most Influential Person Award” she’d be the hands-down winner.

Yes she would! She's amazing. :love

If gas is trapped it doesn't matter if you have a bowel movement or not. Sometimes the pain will actually get worse afterwards. The tea and heating pad will help the muscles relax.

Huh that's interesting. Thanks. Oddly it's not as bad now?

And okay maybe this is a totally different condition because sometimes I get really bad pain but can't go and then I finally go like 20 minutes or half hour later and it's A LOT not to be TMI. Seems to mostly happen when I get really bad anxiety though. Like going to my graduation. And then I go and I'm fine. Cause I also don't go every day

There is a benefit to being male. Clothing styles don't really change much.

IF you can find it. You have no idea how often I've had to search forever for something. Yeah, not that well organized.

That is odd. When my CC was stolen I was able to delete it from PP and add a new one. Don't know if maybe I added the new one first?

I did that when I retired. Really don't need 20+ dress shirts for example. Still had shirts in good shape that were 25 years old. (See my comment to @drumstick diva ;);) )

Yeah but you have a VERY good reason to buy that dress. Wouldn't be right for the Grand Master to be escorting Cinderella in her rags ;)

Seems like the best way. Is/are the person/people who are going to drop it capable of safely climbing up in the tree high enough to cut the top sections out? On the way down they can cut each piece off 16" from the end, and then 16" from the new end and have it blocked and ready to split when it hits the ground :gig

That's very true!! Oddly I usually know where most stuff is despite my room being VERY messy. I have a good memory I guess? But I run into problems because my mom moves stuff around a lot and also the garage is a disaster so if it ends up out there it's gone lol right now we can't even get to most of it so I have some dog stuff I've been looking for that I know is out there somewhere but we need to move stuff around first.

And I think it was because it said I had preapproved payments? I cancelled some of them but others I didn't want to in case they were still using it

Thats why I hope my brother helps. I don’t think his boom truck goes that high though. It’s what he does along with lawn service. Hubby has taken lots of trees with an excavator but this is too big for the excavator we have now.

What kind of surgery did your dd2 have bruce? How's she doing?
Her left eardrum had so much scarring that she couldn't hear much of anything so the surgery was to remove the scarring and rebuild her ear drum using a bit of skin from the inside of her upper arm. The scarring was probably due to having both inner and outer ear infections at the same time about a year and a half ago while at college.

She's never really noticed pain from ear infections. When she was little one of her ear drums burst so DW took her to the doctor. Nurse said she would look at the good one first. Looked in her ear and said "wrong one". DW said, "nope, the other one is the one that was draining". Yeah, she burst the second one on the way to the doctor's office. Never said anything about pain. Later she had tubes and after they were removed the holes didn't close so she had to have them filled. That was in Middle School, she is now 23 Y/O.

She's doing fine, milking it for all it is worth (no surprise). Hasn't gotten dressed all week other than changing nightgowns after a shower. She did have pain chewing though that is decreasing. We put off the weekly hamburgers for dinner Saturday until tonight. She won't eat a burger without a bun and that requires extra mouth stretching ... DW won't eat one with a bun other than to be polite outside the house.

Especially if your style of choice is Levi's, flannel shirts, and cotton socks - add an occasional dress shirt if necessary.

@bruceha2000, earlier in one of your posts you mentioned the concept of what I regard as 'delayed gratification'. How I was raised and what I practiced. Never turned down the offer of overtime, saved, never overspent. Had our kids early in the marriage, Princess was a stay-at-home mom until they were in school - did without. Have I mentioned saved, worked overtime, did without ? Efforts were noticed, and moved on to management - saved, invested, did without. I'm lucky in that I do not need 'stuff'. Princess is cut from a different cloth (it's the Gypsy blood), but we did what we had to do. Now, frankly, we can do what we want. Early retirement became part of the process for me. Princess tried it, but it didn't take. She went on to 3 more careers before retirement 'took'. Now she manages me. :p
