The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Breakfast was tasty but Opie was bummed he didn't get any of the eggs

Chocolate Caramel cake and Blueberry Cheesecake squares. I'll get the recipes posted on the baking thread today if you're interested.

I thought I saw you in the fridge! :gig

Whoa, that's a lot of pups! Good of you to be there for your friend.

Aw B, those anniversaries are tough :hugs

I don't get that either DD. :duc

@rjohns39 looking forward to having you back here more!

@DigMyChicks what's the latest on the dead Godzilla tree? I want to be there for the great falling down party :pop
Hi Debby! It’s still standing...might be end of summer before it’s down. He wants both of the boys here when he does it and they are rarely home for long periods at the same time. I will do my best to get pictures...from a distance!!

She must have had 1 more after I left at 3am, because there's 13 there now

It is too hot for more cleaning here now. I did yard work, cleaned a part of the garage and washed the cars. It is 93F going to 103 today
Ugh!!
Please, please tell me this hasn't become a celebrated national holiday. Are there Hallmark cards for the event and parades?

I refuse to participate. I'm baking a cake instead (but at least I'm washing up as I go along).
There us no such thing as a happy cleaning day! I’d rather bake too.

Green Up Day - pick up all the cr@p people throw out their car windows. Wish there was a boomerang effect the shoved it back in their faces. You throw it out, you eat it.

That ad always makes me laugh.

It's a horrible, wet day here so getting a bit of cleaning done (and attempting to get kids to clean their room) :barnie. Can't say I'm having much success in that department.

Little Winter looks huge. I had to shift a parent yesterday to have a look and the parents sure are feeding baby very well - s/he looked fit to burst. I haven't got a decent photo and I haven't even seen baby today - I just poked my head in to make sure they had enough food before the next shower of rain started falling. I made the mistake of taking the dog with me. She came back in splattered with mud, tracking muddy footprints everywhere. I'm going to have to be a cleaning machine when this house is on the market!

Planted some more plants. Some transplanted to large pots and some into the garden because I had more room. Put 3 in pots, 4 in ground. So now I have 10 in ground and 7 in pots. I think my brother took maybe 2-4 yesterday. And now it is raining which is good because we need it, especially the newest transplants, and maybe it will perk them all up a bit. It's also good because even though I've been watering them all a lot and they're doing well, it's hard to really soak way down deep into the soil so a good rain will get way down there. Because usually underneath the top layer mostly stays like bone dry.

Too bad that doesn't happen....there would be alot less littering.

Looks like we got through the day. Tam usually just marks the day quietly, then goes on with her business. Today she posted pictures of Austin and talked about how much she misses him. Then she called and asked me to do the same. She said she just had this fear that since its been six years, and Austin's wife Joy has remarried and has a little girl, that people might forget Austin. Not a chance, daughter! So Ken and I took her out for lunch. Not much time for more - she worked last night, got some sleep after she posted, then had to rest up a bit before her overnight shift tonight.

It's so hard to see your kids hurting so badly and not be able to do a thing to ease their pain. Hate this part of being a mom/gramma.

National Cleaning Day? Oh, snap! I musta missed it - I'll catch it next year. You'd think there'd be a week of happy-ending specials as the holiday approaches, wouldn't ya?

Whodda thunk I'd ever be watching the computer to see pictures of Winter and a tree coming down, huh! Usually by May I'm over winter and cleaning up tree branches of my own!
