The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

A couple people today waved first lol that normally doesn't happen. And the people especially in my neighborhood give you dirty looks lol of course, sometimes I look like a mess but still lol sometimes I don't
:frow there you go, for all the crabs:gig

got a raccoon walking around here on the road, husband has tried to get a shot at him or her but it keeps going into the brush when he doesn't have the gun. i think i smelled it last night as it went past our bedroom window, was lying there thinking wonder what it is, a coon or a possum, our little schipperke jumped up sounding off, now that gets the heart thumping:th

down south, we not only wave back if we have time(before the car gets passed) but we also wave before you wave:gig if thats all it takes to make someones day, go for it:yesss:
That's the way it use to be here in Texas, you always waved when passing on the road. With so many immigrants moving to Texas, you don't see it as much anymore, like I did as a kid. That's one of the reasons I use :frow this so much, It's a Texas tradition, along with a Big Howdy!

Waving works on my rural road here in notoriously 'unfriendly' NJ. Also treating someone courteously while driving (allowing a merge, etc.) sets the example for others. Courtesy is contagious as is abrasiveness. I choose courtesy - it results in endorphin flow. :lau At least that's what I tell the Princess.

The rural areas here, you'll still see the wave and in small towns but the big cities, forget it. You might get a wave but it will be the "your #1" type wave! :gig

DW was amazed to see the waving in Southern VA, the rural communities and in Tennessee. Sean you beat me to it... In the DC area folks wave but in the fashion sean suggests:lau:gig:lau:gig Another thing folks do here, can be annoying—but is also kind of neat. They see a friend they haven't chatted with in a while and they'll both stop and have a conversation right there in the two lane road. And Wally world is a social gathering place.

:lau:gigsame here Bob and in the real rural areas, you better be watching the road way up ahead because the farmer driving the pick up has his "ear to the road":gig

Lol sometimes in my neighborhood, people pull over and chat to each other too. They usually move when someone's behind them though lol but I'll wave to walkers, people with dogs, whatever, usually zero response. And sometimes people don't even wave thank you when you let them go but I don't care about that so much. And I guess I don't so much mind walkers waving back, maybe it is considered weird or creepy nowadays. But I mind when they give you dirty looks for doing it. Lol no need for that. And one time I held the door for this lady at Panera Bread and she just walked right by me and didn't even say anything. Didn't even look at me.
