Before they changed it, when filing taxes you just wrote down the number of dependents you had with no verification. After every dependent had to have an ssn.

KD here's what you need to do to get a replacement card... https://faq.ssa.gov/en-US/Topic/article/KA-02017

Oh wow so you could just say you had a bunch of dependents and get extra money or whatever?

And thanks, that's very helpful and not as complicated as I thought lol

This might seem like kind of a stupid question but how do you make pumpkin pie with fresh pumpkins? Do you just like... scrape the insides out? Are pumpkins soft enough to do that with? I've never tried to make it before nor opened a pumpkin in a long time so idk. I know they have a lot of seeds and "guts" inside but I assume you don't use that for the pie? I was wondering why some of my pumpkins were small and realized I planted some pie pumpkins when I found the seed packets last night... :lau whoops

I cut it in half, clean out the guts. Separate the seeds and roast them with a little salt. Then I slice up the pumpkin into manageable slices. Then peel or slice the skin off. After that cut into small 1" chunks. Now you have choices... You can steam, roast, Microwave or boil it to get it fork tender. Here's a recipe for steaming. I canned a bunch a couple years ago in heavy syrup, so that's what I use today.

Thanks RJ! This was very helpful. And then after you cook it I assume you like mash it or something? And add the seasonings then? Maybe I'll have to Google a recipe. This is helpful though, thanks

check out the link I gave you... There are dozens of good ones out there. Yes you either mash or puree the pumpkin. Some run it through a food mill. For me, it's the food processor.

Whoops, sorry RJ, I hadn't clicked it yet so thought it was just about how to steam, didn't realize it was an actual full recipe, just read it now and it sounds delicious. Although I don't think our pumpkins are quite that big?

I have these ones
