The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Mother Nature does what she likes and just doesn't care :tongue. Nothing we can do about it.

Lol that's true I suppose. Earlier this week it was like 70s and even 80 and humid then mid afternoon yesterday through this morning it was pouring rain and then it cleared up early this afternoon and now I think it's like 60s and sunny and dry

Wow Kdogg 10 year membership - great. I never realized that. You must have been just a young puppy when you joined. :thumbsup

Yup! 14! A baby :lau

But I also left a lot at the beginning, sometimes for a few months, at one point for a few years, but since that longest point I've been back nonstop and been a chatter box :D

don't like this, yesterday was raining, so it was damp and cool but still wearing shorts and sleeveless blouse, today, sun was out but had to wear a sweatshirt jacket and sweat pants and as of right now 50* and to go down to 42*, don't like this at all:mad: this keeps up, will have to wear shoes too

Oh and also it took me 7 years to finally get my chickens. October 2015. Had them 3 years now. Can't believe it.

I had been researching for years and my mom kept saying I could get them but never actually followed through/kept that promise... well one day I just took matters into my own hands and ordered them myself :lau

And now of course everybody loves them and the eggs. Well, they mostly just like the eggs. I'm really the only one truly attached to the chickens themselves. But yeah. Everyone wishes we had them sooner.

One thing that I sometimes think about though is that I got them right after my grandma passed (in September of that year) and I think she would have loved them. She always got eggs from my uncle's neighbor/family friend or from a family up the road from her. She loved her fresh eggs

last week it was 103* today it was 62* with a low in the mid 40s* Last week I lost meat birds to heat and dehydration, this week they're running around and acting crazy.
we've been putting tin on the side the suns shinning on so they at least have shade but thank goodness its never been that warm, maybe in the little shed where i keep the biddys but we put a fan in there for them, one day the fan, the next the heat bulb.
happy to say my friends are all ok, neighbor just called, hes ok too, big relief but the poor people in pc and mexico beach, my heart breaks for them:hit

We got a really hard frost last night...hoping it will change the weather pattern. The sun actually shined today, I wanted to do a dance but was afraid it would bring rain!
:lau:gig:gig
hoping the hard frost holds off for us for awhile, but if it frost we will dig the carrots and potatoes, will also pick the last of the watermelons so that they'll still be good to eat, they are soooo sweet, i saved seeds from a yellow one we bought last year at the auction, have no idea what kind it is other than its a yellow flesh with seeds :idunno, even husband likes it and he usually doesn't care for watermelon.even got a pink flesh one on the same vine, weird, side by side . keeping seeds again this winter too.
