The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Your avatar reminds me of a whimsical place my mom had in her bathroom. Said; "You's not fat, Ewe's fluffy" :lau what was funny, she wasn't fat.
what can i say, when i saw it, thought it was me to a tee not to mention that cochins are my favorite chickens, along with the brahma's (those eagle eyes again);)

At this hour almost anything is interesting, on here....I've just been listening to music then posting what I was listening to on the "What are you listening to right now" thread.
i can't listen to music or tv without waking up husband, hes a light sleeper and no use both of us being awake
oh no, here comes wilbur,he was outside for his "business" and husband, who's up now, let him back in, now he wants more to eat and tummy scratching, food comes first tho

Yep, I use to have a pet javalena. That was his routine, too! His favorite breakfast was pancakes and maple syrup! :lau use to sit in the recliner with me and watch tv... I miss Pedro. :love

i try not to let wilbur have to many people foods except for romaine lettuce and coconut oil, hes already quite the little porker for a house pig but i know he would eat most anything i give him, what can i said, hes a pig and you know pigs never get full
how did you come by a javelina? i've never seen one except on tv, course if they will cross with the feral pigs i might one day

I was talking to a trapper one day down at our ranch. He had just come up on the moma and her 4 piglets. He was only about 2 days old. He was a bright orange color....I didn't know it at the time but they are born with the orange color hair which changes to black within a few days. Anyway, we got to talking and he knew I did taxidermy and deer processing....so he asked me if I had any sausage with me, I'd given some to him before...so I traded him about 10lbs. of deer sausage for Pedro.
Had the vet neuter him and removed his musk gland. Actually, a very clean animal, not like pigs rolling around in mud. :lau
Only bad thing was he became a one person animal, and that was me, anybody else he would try to eat'em up! I really learned alot from him. The best guard "dog" anybody could ever have! ;) He would "alert" when anyone drove into the driveway...it was 300 yards long, and he would alert as soon as they turn into the gate.

sounds like a wonderful pet, wilbur had the same done to him, thankfully he doesn't hold it against me:lau also had his tusk clipped, don't know what the vet did to be honest, just know the vet told me he did the teeth trimming while he had him out, i didn't ask for it, forgot the males grow tusk but i did ask for the musk gland to be removed, wilbur doesn't roll in the mud, he likes to be a clean piggy, he will sit in the lake tho when we go to fl:( thankfully the gators aren't out

Yeah, I didn't have his tusk removed. He only tried to bite me once. He chopped down on my calf, thank goodness I had boots on or it could have been really bad. His tushes were only about 1" at the time but they went through the boot uppers and into my calf about a 1/2", that wasn't so bad, I bled but the amount of force in his bite is what hurt the most. Just glad he as still small only about 2 months old. After that, he found out who was boss...they are very stubborn, hard headed animals. He wanted to do something and I wouldn't let him...he never tried that again.
He had a game he would play with the toilet paper in the bathroom. He'd unroll it then take off running all over the house with the paper in tow!:lau finally had to just keep the doors shut to all rooms except the one I was in.
