Knife scabbard is rawhide wrapped in brain tan buckskin, beaded with various colored glass beads, my own design. Laid out on an 8 bar Hudson Bay blanket.

Beautiful work Sean!

Well the post office is definitely not busy at Hanukkah. But will be extremely slow/busy for Christmas.

BTW Hanukkah can't compete with Christmas but,it's a present a day for 8 days. Usually very small things, coins,(krugerands, key chain, ballpoint pens or Bics, diamond ring ( just testing to see if you read all this.)

Please don't rush if you aren't ready. I will always be noshing on something. good night.

Elk
Sorry I didn't mean brand new paintings or carvings. I just meant any you have done. Of course you don't have time to make any now. I think I've only seen the one of mountain goats- hope I got that right. BTW what is the difference between Elk and Moose? :bun
Nope, not right....mountain sheep, Dall's sheep to be exact.
Here's some pics you decide for yourself what the differences are! :lau

Thank you, the elk is much more refined from head to toe, antlers more deer-like. I like the elk much better. I think it's meat would be more tender and work better in stews, soups and whatever masterpiece Sean could whip up.

The moose is pardon me for saying, ugly as sin, probably flunked kindergarten, I don't care how much meat he may be packing. Probably his hide makes better protection from weather, and would last longer if used to build a teepee. Bet he tastes as bad as he looks. P.S. his antlers(?) would probably make good jumbo salad tossers.

BTW are Santa's reindeer Elk. they never landed on our roof, so not sure.

Your starting to "test" my patience....reindeer are reindeer, Elk are Elk, Moose are Moose, Caribou are Caribou. All are great to eat...yes, I've eaten their meat...bear too! Didn't like bear.
Alot of native people use to make their moccasins out of moose and elk hide.

Testing YOUR patience, I know a whole lot more about Native Americans than you know about Jews. In religious ceremonies a ram's horn is blown. Not at all melodious like a flute. If I were in charge I would make many changes.

I've never been around those animals. But, I have been around dogs and I can probably identify more breeds that you can.Big deal. Of course I have no desire to eat any. It all depends on what was taught to you or what you learned on your own. Just like me I was city raised for my formative years, and suburban for all the others, which is not much different. We are surrounded by Forest Preserves which are not like "real forests."

This is BYC . There are no stupid questions just folks trying to learn. As my mother always used to say "Excuse me for living." :bun
