The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Just had the chance to watch the videos. At the end you asked for suggestions - I just have one....have Tam come out for a couple of months to help. Oh, she wouldn’t charge in and take over, but man, she’d take your ideas and run with them! Would she love to be part of bringing that old homestead to life! We.jokingly call her our own Mike Holmes - she loves to take on big projects like this! I’m going to show her your videos and see how long it takes her to start twitching!! Her little sunroom in her new house is also her favorite part of her house, so she’d “get it”, and she’d go nuts over all the little tucked in, built in features!

You have a lot more flexibility with options than she had with her other two houses.... the first one she was renting for the first year, her and her friend intending to draw up the sale agreements back at the end of April until Shannon lost her job and needed to sell conventionally. Tam got the loan but the house flunked it’s FHA inspection. Then she found the house she’s in now, and the week after she bought it we had that horrible hailstorm come through. But once it was hers, she rolled up her sleves and has been busy busy busy!

Me, I wouldn’t know where to start! I’d have a gabillion ideas in my head but no no how to accomplish them. Hence the reason I still have half a bathroom and half a bedroom, and a porch that’s falling off the house. :he

It’s gonna be so cute when you get it all done, and I’d love to watch it’s progression. Same with Debby’s new house in Casper! How about it, @N F C - videos?

morning sour:frow, you must pay more taxes,as husband says, to be clear of snow

It's NJ - we pay more taxes, but it sure is unusual weather lately. Last week it was 8" of snow along the coast and nothing here. Today it is snow in the Carolinas and perhaps WV (sorry, Nat) but clear here. Whatever, I'll take it.

Clear and sunny here. Came home yesterday to frozen pipes. One of us who shall remain nameless but who goes by the moniker of Blooie didn’t leave the lower kitchen cabinet open and let the water drip from the kitchen faucet when we left town, although I’m sure she intended to. <sigh>. Don’t ya just hate it when bad things happen and you have nobody to blame but yourself?

Fee is happy to be home. I just love the self-serve bath they have there - pick up the dog, walk her into the nicely equipped bath room, and give her a bath before bringing her out to the car. They have both a walk in (with a lip to keep your shoes relatively dry), preset water temps in the hand held shower, (super long hose on that) a few choices of shampoo depending on coat type, and stacks of towels, or a huge sink to lift smaller dogs into. We can even bring her up there for a bath anytime we want, no charge, since she’s too big to bathe at home. Folks that raise goats and mini-horses even come into use it for their animals. Good thing since we had no water here anyway. <sigh>

I don't do videos but when I drive up tomorrow I'll take my camera so I can share some photos of the demo work we've done so far.

Yay!

I'm tearing everything down to the studs sadly. There's old knob & tube wiring and cast iron plumbing. Also, because the house was frozen when it moved this week, there are cracks in all of the walls and ceilings :(
I ASSUME you hadn't planned on that? Gutting and moving walls after paying to move the house, seems like it would have been cheaper to build new.

this year I'll let the PO handle it.
Flat rate boxes are likely the cheapest. Bring one home and pack it full!

I hope none burst!!!!
Give the unnamed one a :hugs, I bet s/he feels badly about that little mistake.
