Wow that is odd!! I have never heard of someone being allergic to plants!! That is awesome they are feeling better though!! I have heard the regular pesticides they put on stuff can cause a lot of problems so a lot of people eat organic and/or non GMO which seems to help but never heard of being allergic to the actual plant, just stuff sprayed on the plant. But it is possible of course. Do you guys use Round Up/glyphosate there? It is still legal here but I hear it is banned in a lot of countries.
It's odd, I know some Round up products have been banned but, I have seen "off brand" stuff with 3 x or more of the same ingredient on the store shelves where Round up used to sit.![]()
Hey Kdog, thi is what is referred to as plants that produce pesticides. When I was studying Agronomy in the early 80s it was considered a huge breakthrough in safe pesticides. It causes the catapillars stomach to rupture. Apparently it causes the same in humans too.

They were looking at banning it. Not sure if they reached a conclusion or if it's ongoing. The current government likes to set up 'advisory committees' (which cost money) rather than make a decision for themselves.
Plants are amazing and science is discovering how smart they are.

Next time you buy shrubs or flowering plants at the local nursery or big box store read the label on the plant. So many of them are GMOwith bT. This affects pollinators when they feed on flowers of these plants. Kills bees etc. Contaminates honey...just a bad situation. Plant non GMO landscaping too.Wow that is odd!! You would think they would ban the ingredient not one specific brand. Although some people may not know what that ingredient is. You would hope the people making the laws would but not always. They do still use it quite often on fields and commercial use I’m pretty sure, creating “Round Up Ready” crops and such.

This one did not work for me. Said that page does not exist.
Thanks, interesting. I used to think “so they modify it a bit? What’s the big deal?” And still did until fairly recently but then I read something that made sense to me... they often modify them to make them “Round Up Ready” and spray it on them. So even if the genetic modification itself isn’t bad (and idk if it is or isn’t), the fact that they are able to load them up with way more chemicals is. At least to me. That’s just disgusting. So now I think I am going to try to buy organic and/or non GMO but that is expensive. But after seeing a list of the dirtiest fruits and veggies, it really grossed me out. Dirty being covered in pesticides and the amount of pesticides on some. I think the list is called the Dirty Dozen and there is one called the Clean Fifteen. It really grossed me out so I figure, organic produce has less chance of having pesticides on it. Cause even if you wash the other stuff, the pesticides usually stay. Perfect reason to grow my own too, which I will when it gets warmer, but in winter, will try to buy organic maybe. Or maybe invest in a greenhouse or move somewhere warm lol
Government is always making committees for everything, are they not? Gets ridiculous sometimes. Like that show, Parks & Recreation, Lesley was constantly making committees and/or holding town meetings or public forums lol
And they really are!! I read something once about how they cry and/or let out some pheromones or something when you cut or injure them. That was a little too wacky for me lol but I think it was a real study with super sensitive microphones or something.
me too@KDOGG331 , I do still eat sweet and regular potatoes, even pasta - just not as frequently and maybe one third portion of what I usually eat. Do I cheat ? Heck yeah, but try to limit that to some special baked pastry infrequently. The Princess insists on buying sugar iced jelly donuts - we will split one. I have been bad through the holidays and am paying the price right now.
